I've been wondering about which funny Facebook status to use this weekend, because I had a pretty hard week at work (my boss has been on my ass like you wouldn't believe!) - so anyway I decided to investigate a few funny Facebook statuses which had special characters in them. These special characters are usually used by people looking for a funny MSN name, but we can use them in our update messages to good effect too!

One small problem with them is that some people can't see them on their screens (they show up as little white boxes), but don't let it worry you – you probably just need to upgrade your browser (like install Firefox dude!).

Funny Facebook status number one – Something for anglers

This is a pretty funny Facebook status update, especially for the anglers among you. When I say anglers, I don't mean people who are good at geometry either – I mean fishermen! I used to enjoy fishing over at a lake near my grandfather's house, and so when I saw these special characters I knew that I should use them in an update and let everyone know that I hadn't forgotten my favourite pastime!

Funny Facebook status number two – MJ still has mass appeal!

Example: Michael Jackson's life story: ☻ born ♔ of pop ☺ died

I actually saw this on another website, but it is hilarious so I had to share it here – check out this life story of Michael Jackson, complete with emoticons and some humour! See how his face changes from black (when he was born) to white when he died?! Genius!

Funny Facebook status number three – Look out on the starboard side!

Example: ☠ ☠ ☠ Pirates hijacked my Facebook status! ☠ ☠ ☠

If you've been following the news lately (and I know you have), you'll have seen that pirates in the oceans around the west coast of Africa have been causing havoc by hijacking various ships and boats and demanding ransoms! Well now you can have your status hijacked too! Let them know that you're involved with the high seas!
