fact about protein

Proteins that you get from meat and other animal products contain all the amino acids you need. They are like long necklaces with differently shaped beads. Proteins are where the action is, and are necessary to the body in a relatively fixed ratio and can become problematic if present in quantities that are too small or too great. They are essential elements for growth and repair, good functioning and structure of all living cells.

Proteins are chains of amino acids that fold in a particular way, and scientists cannot yet reliably predict the shape of a folded protein. They are designed to bind every conceivable molecule?from simple ions to large complex molecules like fats, sugars, nucleic acids, and other proteins. They are of great nutritional value and are directly involved in the chemical processes essential for life. Proteins are made up of chains of amino acids, and are involved in the transmission of nervous impulses, by acting as receptors of small molecules which cross junctions separating nerve cells.

Proteins are represented by dots and their interactions by lines. They are the basis of how biology gets things done. They are available for human, mouse, rat, cotton rat, zebrafish, canine, feline, porcine, bovine, Rhesus macaque, chicken, Drosophila and viral molecules.
