Fall 2009 Hair Color!

Fall is here! Time for warmer clothes, sweaters, holidays, hot chocolate and yes.......... a new You! Color, color, color!

Fall brings about this years hair color trend, with natures' bright yellow ,orangey-brown and ofcourse bright red leaves, beautifully interpreted on You!

This Fall seasons  hair color trends are more natural than ever! Dimensional earth tones are on the rise. Eliminate those 'fun', colorful,  chunky streaks!

Out with your old self,in with the new You! Go get that cut, find that style and splash on that color! Here we go!

Color is your Image Personality!

Were you aware of the fact that just by changing the color of your hair can bring about a drastic change in your personality? Giving you Confidence! Your hair represents You! Your Style, Your Image!

The only consideration to that would be to select a color that goes well with your skin tone keeping in mind hair color trends.

Leaves: Orangey-Brown

You: Rich Brunette

Eva Longoria-Parker is styling a gorgeous bob in a rich shade of brown. She looks classy and mature. This would be an awesome photo to bring in to your stylist if you’re thinking of going brunette! Also bright stripy highlights are definitly to be considered on going mellow to none if you are to go this route, Fall is more of the natural settle browns.

Leaves: Bright Red

You: Rich Plums & Cherries

Julia Roberts, Beautiful ,Beautiful Gorgeous hair! (I can remember a time when I had full massive hair!)(what happened?) We'll anyway, this color totally and completly compliments her eyes! It makes them pop! Red is an eye catching color.'Burgundyish' Awesome example!

Leaves: Yellow

You: Pale Blonde

Dutch model lekeliene Stange's gorgeous flowing peroxide blonde locks are a beautiful interpretation of Falls falling yellow leaves. This color is not so easy to obtain but of course, peroxide blonde is a hard hue to pull of, so you might want to stick with a more wearable shade this season (nuetral-cool-warm blondes)

Platinum blonde bombshell Carrie Underwood's locks ARE naturally platinum blonde and the best way to obtain her color would be to take your colorist a desired picture of her locks. Its been said she has put extensions in to lengthen her hair just a bit, so if you see shades of 'honey' low lights ,that be the reason why.(take into consideration  your artificial or natural color; if you have artificial black permanent tint in, then please absolutly do not expect these results (very soon)

Ok, let's not leave this color out

Jennifer Connellys' light eyes stand out in this dark, warm, rich brown hair color.

If you have light eyes and are a  natural brunnette-this may be the one for you!

Though most anyone can wear it, this color works best on natural brunettes. Ask your colorist for a semi-permanent color in a warm, rich, dark brown.

Winter Wonderland!

Ok, Generally, black is what you need to impress and turn heads..., anywhere! Let's not leave this hair color behind since it is very strong in 2009.

Made popular by Snow White, a lovely contrast of pearl white skin against ebony hair,it is perhaps the most enchanting of all, natural and so effortless beauty.

This look made popular by celebrities such as Kelly Osbourne and Dita Von Teese.

A lot of fair-skinned women like the way black hair contrasts against their skin. The fair skin tone gives the femininity and fairness whilist the dark hair tone does reflect strength and sophistication. You want to be careful with your make up and outfits that you wear though, in order not to look tired and sullen.

Before your salon visit this Fall season:

- Do a little color terminology research. To know the difference between terms like semi-permanent and permanent color will be able to help you and your colorist communicate more efficiently. Try Redken’s color glossary

http://www.redken.com/salon-services/professional-edge/glossary/

-Be prepared for a longer visit, as your colorist may need to remove old color and then recolor your hair. “Corrective color” (to correct color results you are unhappy with from a prior coloring experience or any color disaster mishap)

-I suggest walking into the salon with your everyday look, that way the stylist can get a feel for what you’re comfortable with.

-Communication,Communication,Communication, I cannot stress enough of how communication is so vital at the time of your salon visit. It is the path in which you interchange; your wants, needs and desires, and in return your colorist will be able to 'recommunicate' back your wants, needs and desires, giving you advice, tips, and options as to what is best going to work For You.Your colorist is there to work with you to achieve that beautiful hair color . The more you can explain what you want, the better the collaboration will be.

Bring, Know, Trust, and Ask

-Bring your inspiration: Photographs and examples of haircolor you love will help you and your colorist explore your color options – and ensure that you both mean the same thing when you say, “honey blonde” or “titan red.”

-Know your history: Be prepared to tell your colorist about any prior color services, all whether it was those highlights last year or a color shine last month. This will be so very important for the colorist to better understand 'whats going on inside your hair'.

-Trust your colorist: Listen to your colorist’s expert opinion. During your color consultation, he/she will consider your desired result, then evaluate your hair’s condition and look at your skin tone and coloring in order to create your custom color formulation.

-Ask questions:example;if you hear a color term you don’t understand, don’t hold back to ask your colorist for an explanation. Also, inquire about maintenance – like how often you’ll need to return to the salon for touchups, and how to best maintain your color at home between visits with recommended haircare products.

Beautiful You!

 Remember, You Are Beautiful!

Hair color is just another accessory you have, make sure you wear it right!
