Events and Celebrities Pictures

Celebrities have a huge impact on peoples’ lives in the world trhough all time. A lot of people go through one day without checking the web, or their favorite celebrity magazine to read about the latest celebrity gossip, and the most up to the minute juicy tidbit of news about their favorite famous person or important history event. Celebrities can range from an actress or actor, singer, writer, movie director, photographer. There are also people who are famous today, such as Lady Di, Barack Obama.

And while people make the obligatory negative remarks about reality or virtual photography. What makes event or famous so popular? There are probably several events and famous people:

Marilyn Monroe. Still photographs from the 1955 Seven Year Itch starring Marilyn Monroe have since become synonymous with image of Monroe. Even Barbie Doll offered fans a facsimile.

The photo on the left by photographer Bernard Brujo did not make the cut as director Billy Wilder was fearful of having his movie censored Photos 1960s Anna Strasberg, widow of famed acting coach Lee Strasberg, inherited the bulk of the Marilyn Monroe Estate from her late husband.

Elvis Presley. Elvis shocked his audience when in a burst of high spirits he rolled around on the stage floor with the stuffed animal in a highly uninhibited and provocative manner during a fast and furious rendition of 'Hound Dog¹ at the inaugural concert of his 1957 California Concert Tour.

Meet the dog at the scene of the most sexually charged concert of the 1950's and his glamorous new owner, Rebecca Hooper.

John F. Kennedy Jr. Three-year-old, He salutes his father's casket in Washington three days after the president was assassinated in Dallas (Nov. 23, 1963). Widow Jacqueline Kennedy, and daughter Caroline are accompanied by the late president's brothers Edward Kennedy and Attorney General Robert Kennedy.

Apollo 11. The date that made history was July 20, 1969. "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." (Neil Armstrong). Astronaut Buzz Aldrin salutes the American flag planted on the lunar surface Millions of Americans heard.

Che Guevara. A lock of Che Guevara's hair along with photos, documents and original fingerprints relating execution of the Argentine-born revolutionary. The macabre collection of memorabilia purchased by a lone bidder was compiled by a Cuban exile CIA operative named Gustavo Villoldo, who helped capture Guevara. After his execution by the Bolivian military he was secretly bury him in the middle of the night. Before Guevara's hands were cut off, Villoldo helped fingerprint his corpse, and a "death mask" was made as proof that Che had been captured and killed.

Princess Diana. She died 1997 (August 31st). Her funeral saw seen by over 30 million viewers around the world. That day was at once sorrowful and uplifting as Diana, Princess Diana of Wales, was remembered as a woman of "natural nobility" whose life of compassion and style transcended sometimes abusive press coverage.

A decade after her death, Princess Diana still looms large in Britain's psyche . It has become commonplace in the decade since Diana's death on Aug. 31, 1997, to say that the festival of mourning which culminated in her extraordinary funeral marked a transformation. The People's Princess had unlocked hearts, reordered values, presided at the triumph of emotional intelligence over cold intellect, of compassion over tradition.

Ten years on, Diana is still the world's most famous Briton, if she did much more than wear designer dresses and shift a lot of tabloids. So here are a few incontrovertible facts. Diana shook up the British monarchy and speeded its modernization. She helped to tear down prejudices about AIDS. These are pretty hefty achievements for a woman of little education who mocked herself for being thick as a plank. Diana remains an inescapable presence in British life: mostly, but not always, benign; a restless and seductive ghost.

September 11st. World Trade Center Terrorist Attack September 11 (2001). No single image has yet emerged as the canonical one. In this case: millions around the world saw footage in real time on TV and then replays a lot of times. Airplane hijackings result in the collapse of the World Trade Center in New York City, destruction of the western portion of The Pentagon in Virginia, and a passenger airliner crash in Pennsylvania.

This, according to the Washington Post (January 27, 2002), represents "the biggest one-year rise since the Reagan buildup two decades ago and a suspension of 'the peace dividend.'" . . . It matches the combined military spending of the 15 countries with the next biggest defense budgets. (The proposed increase alone is about the same as the entire defense budget of the next biggest spender--Japan.) . . . It would roughly match, in inflation adjusted terms, the U.S. defense budget in 1967, at the height of the Vietnam War.

Even when events occurred and  celebrities want to get somethig who is also in the public eye, because when someone is not used to the cameras, it can be too much for them to handle. Also, any famous person who dates a non famous person cannot help but wonder because of their parents’ celebrity have a status.

Angelina Jolie: World's Most Powerful Celebrity

Jolie raked in $27 million in the past 12 months thanks to a movie schedule that included Kung Fu Panda, Wanted and the not-yet-released spy thriller Salt. Even more impressive: The publicity she garnered following the birth of her twins, as well as the consistent headlines she grabs for her philanthropic efforts and her relationship with actor Brad Pitt, who ranks No. 9 on the list.

Winfrey drops to No. 2 on the list. The media maven has pocketed $275 million in the last year, making her the list's top earner. Though viewership for her daily chat fest, The Oprah Winfrey Show, continues to erode, her earnings remain unchanged from a year ago. In addition to Winfrey's monthly magazine, she has a three-year, $55 million deal with XM Satellite Radio. Early next year, the self-made billionaire will roll out the lifestyle-themed Oprah Winfrey Network inpartnership with Discovery Communications.

In a year filled with humbling bank failures and violent stock market swings, the earning power of the 2009 Celebrity 100 remained remarkably resilient. The cumulative earnings of the 2009 list totaled $4.1 billion, up slightly from last year's $4 billion haul.

10. The comeback tour: After several reclusive years at Neverland Ranch, Michael announced his comeback tour to eager fans and the media. He called it his "final curtain call," saying, "These will be my final shows performing in London. 'This is it' really means 'this is it' ... I'll be performing the songs my fans want to hear. I'll see you in July and I love you so much."

9. Onstage kiss with Lisa Marie Presley: There are kisses ... and then there's Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie's kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards circa 1994. The newly wedded and highly controversial pair walked out on stage hand-in-hand as the crowd went, for lack of a better term, bananas.

8. Oscar date with Madonna: When you're the biggest thing to hit the pop culture scene since, well, ever, and you have an extra ticket to the Oscars, what is one to do? Bring your uber-iconic female counterpart, naturally. In 1991, Michael and Madonna went to the Oscars together, sparking a media frenzy that Brangelina could never even dream of.

7. The Moonwalk: Neil Armstrong's steps on the actual moon were largely overshadowed 14 years later by Michael Jackson's moonwalk (the first video recording of the move seen here, around 3:41, when everyone goes ballistic). His smooth, ever-so-cool, gravity-defying move drove fans wild and has proved to be one of the most iconic dance moves in history.

6. "Captain EO": The Jonas Brothers may have earned headlines for their "3-D Concert Experience," but Michael Jackson broke that ground more than two decades ago. In the mid-'80s MJ fans got to experience the pop star in full 3-D via "Captain EO," a Francis Ford Coppola-directed sci-fi experience that played exclusively at Disney theme parks.

5. Friend of Bubbles the chimp: Of course, the King of Pop wasn't without his eccentricities. In 1985 he adopted a chimp named Bubbles from a cancer research institute. For a time, the primate and the pop star were inseparable. The pair became such icons that, in 1998, Jeff Koons made three porcelain statues of Michael and Bubbles, valued at $250,000 each.

4. "We Are the World": In 1985, Michael teamed up again with Quincy Jones and Diana Ross, along with Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen and many other music icons to record "We Are The World," a song intended to promote awareness and raise money for famine and disease relief in Africa.

3. "Thriller": Michael Jackson is the only person who could ever make zombie pop cool. The 13-minute "Thriller" music video has it all: the music. The red jacket. The yellow eyes. The rhythmic zombies. The terrifying wolf creature. The Guinness World Records dubbed the video the "Most Successful Music Video" of all time. The horror-movie spoof revolved around a horde of highly coordinated zombies coming after MJ and his date, until, of course, the date realizes that Michael is a part of the zombie crew.

2. "The Wiz": In 1978, Michael joined the cast of the film version of "The Wiz," playing The Scarecrow to Diana Ross' Dorothy. According to an autobiography by musical director Quincy Jones, Michael reportedly watched videos of gazelles and cheetahs to prepare for the role of the lanky, loose-limbed Scarecrow. Maybe it influenced his future dancing style?

1. The Jackson 5 on "The Ed Sullivan Show": Michael was only 11 years old when he took the stage and performed "I Want You Back" on "The Ed Sullivan Show" with The Jackson 5. The performance drove the song to the top spot on the Billboard charts and sent young Michael hurtling towards superstardom.
