Finding a 0 percent credit card( zero percent credit card ) is more difficult today than it has been in the past. If you have good to excellent credit you can still get cards that offer 0 percent for purchases as well as balance transfers. The main thing to look for in these promotions are to see how long they offer this special rate for and to read the fine print as far as fees. Most credit cards now charge 3% for the balance transfer fee, so you have to weigh the cost of this expense to what you would be paying on interest on your other card. The best offer I have seen recently is an LL Bean Card for 0% Balance Transfer with a $50 maximum charge for the balance transfer fee. You'll need to google 0 percent credit cards of 0 % balance transfers. From there you will find sites that show a different number of cards and what benefits each of them offer. But like I said before be sure to check the fine print about what fees they charge.

The offer you get from the credit card company will be dependent upon your credit history. You may only get 6 months for 0% instead of 12 months or you may only get a credit line of $5,000 instead of $12,000. Unfortunately you probably won't find out your credit line amount until after you have applied for the card.

I know some people have made money by opening up a 0% card. One could get a new 0% card with no transfer fees for one year. From there you would get the new card company to write a check for $10000 to pay off a credit card with a very low balance of one dollar. This other credit card company would than send you a check for $9,999.You could put this money in a 10 month CD. You collect the interest and than pay the credit card the $10000 you owe it. This isn't as easy anymore because of the balance transfer fees but it could work for you if you get a higher paying interest rate on you CD.

These cards may be harder to come by now but they are still out there with a few fees attached to them now. I'm afraid for those of you that used to jump from one 0%(zero percent) card to the other, with no fees, your days are over. But there are still good deals out there and its a great way to get rid of some of your high interest credit card balances. Good luck.

Good hub and a great topic. Zero interst credit cards can be a great opportunity for most but the consumer must be aware of the details so they don't end up with fees they didn't expect.
