the first place is at the swannanoa river at the nature center. dont fish at the dam unless your catfishing. cause the trout dont bite much there but if you like pan catfish its a good place, if you use the right bait. night crawler-no, minners-not to good,the best thing is to get a tiny hook or a minner bucket but bait-bread,and catche the natural minners there,and use them for bait. if the dam is to your right cast about 30 feet at 11 o'clock to hit the deep hole. you should catche all the little catfish you want. as for trout, if your standing at the dam and useing a 11 inch lead which means from your weight to your hook is 11 inches, and using tan powerbait and casting toward the falls as close as you can get you shall catche at least 3 with in a hour cause theres a deep hole  a little ways past the middle. next spot you can catche bass, trout, the trick is bait. the minners catche the big bass and big trout. leave the dam head down river to you come to the beach area past the little rapids use the minners close to the other side of the river and catche bass and trout all day long. thats the bait the works in that park. next place...catfish here are the places for catfish in asheville and bait. on the french broad there are a few good places but not many. starting at bridges always look for trees and such in the water. use cut bait and wait. the lead should be 18 inches from weight. use a slip weight and a swivel. that wil catche catfish there. just remember bridges and down trees are the key.bass... use minners or minner lures and night crawlers. fish weightless. fallen trees and where the river makes a "T" produces for the french broad. now for my favorite trout.... for in brevard trout are big. up above the swimming area..night crawlers, powerbait-tan and on bright days silver spoons.in marion for trout havent found a place. but for crappie and bass and waleye and fishery and lake james the best bait depends on the time well

mornig time for crampie is fun and chaledging i found that most of the year that work for me is yelow and black beattle spin just remember this the cooler it is go slower and deeper and smaller

and live minnors fished one inch deeper than 22 inches for every dacree cooler than 50 or just do what i do is just seat my bober as long as my pole as for places lest start at the park  at lake james theres a few good places off shore if you have a boat that better well the first place is simple and easey to find just go to the dock no that place is good for brim and other pan fish but remember no weight or float well back to crampie points are the key fish at points cast out far and use minners or bettle spins, if your using a boat points are important too. fish off them you will get more crappie as for bass fishing at the lake watch the water when you see swirls follow bait fish. you will put more bass in the boat use spiner bait, poppers,in the summer. winter fishing use plastic as for colors red,black,and green pumpkin with a here is the rig,take your line with no weight nothing tie weight to bottom of line. measure up about 1-2 foot tie a 12 in lead hook atifical bait to that lead fish near docks and cover. that way the rig keeps the bait in the face of the fish longer. more chance to get a bite. check back with me later for more info i will be writing more on the ideas and the products i try for the lake and others in our area. thank you ......chance
