These algae makes the aquarium water green and clouds the water seriously. It can continues to happen clouding the water until your pet fish is barely to be seen swimming around. This especially true for those garden pond. what you can see is green water. This problem causes many headache.

aquarium algae problem should be fixed as it will lead to others problem to your fishes. Because algae is not like normal plant, it breaths oxygens like your fish. With full loads of algae particles floating around inside your aquarium will sucks all the oxygen available to your fishes. Then your fish will fall sick, suffocated and then dies.... 

So how to get rids of this aquarium algae problem?

There are mainly few ways to treat algae water problem besides changing the aquarium water ,brushing and cleaning aquarium frequently.

Using UV sterilizer will clear all the algae away. This thing rocks, i have installed one in my garden pond and few days later... the pond water turns crystal clear! the water before was like thick green polluted water. yuck! If you want to fix algae problem. I recommend you to try UV sterilizer. By installing it after your water pump, all the aquarium water flows through it will be sterilized by ultravoilet light. Every algae cell will be destroyed / vaporized by UV lights. Thus, within days your pond water will be free from algae particles(There is gonna be still some algae in your pond. completely destroy all algae is practically impossible.) 

This things apply same to big aquariums, the concept is the same. just install UV sterilizer at your aquarium water filter area and let the water flow through it. You'll see the difference. One thing to keep in mind though is the UV light might burn out. the uv light tends to be burn out in weeks for 24 hours using. So my solution is switch it off eventually. might be moredurable. As the UV light pillar is not cheap.

Besides using ultravoilet sterilizer to kill algae. You can try move your aquarium from outdoor to indoor(if it is outdoor) to reduce the sunlight exposure, with less sunlight, less algae will grow in your aquarium.
