5 Most Popular Cellphones in Europe and Asia
76Americans have been so crazed about the iPhone that I have become so sick of hearing about it. The first person in line to buy the iPhone waited 109 hours outside Apple's flagship Fifth Avenue Store, in New York City. It is just a communication device, for god's sake! Not the Dalai Lama, Pope or an alive dinosaur. People on the other side of the world, in fact, don't really give a damn about it. Let's take a look at what Asians and Europeans favor over the iPhone.
AU KDDI's INFOBAR 2
Tokyo, Japan
They look pretty funky and wacky, don't they? They actually remind me of candy bars and make me feel a bit hungry. The cute design, however, is not the only cool thing about the INFOBAR 2. It uses a 2.6″ 240×400 OLED screen with improved visibility outdoors. A One-Seg DMB tuner is also built in; you can record your shows onto the microSD card. Plus, you can listen to music via the stereo speakers, find your way through the streets with AGPS, browse full HTML sites on the CDMA EV-DO network, and buy stuff with the electronic-money, built-in microchip. It is absolutely the no. 1 cell phone in Tokyo right now.
Samsung's Serenata
Amsterdam, Netherlands
The touchscreen Serenata phone is designed specially to enhance your music listening experience. It comes with ergonomic earphones and a built-in speaker with advanced audio engineering. Also, it has the PureMusic mode which allows you to receive all texts and calls without having to interrupt your playlist. Other features include high-speed internet connectivity via 3G, 4GB internal memory and 2.4″ LCD screen. Its rounded shape is said to be inspired by sea rocks. Dutch people are totally in love with this phone.

GoldVish
Moscow, Russia
Standing for both utility and luxury, the GoldVish is made of 18-karat gold and 12 carats of diamonds, handcrafted by specialists in jewelry and watchmaking in Geneve. It is very famous among Russian ladies who are driven by fashion and class. There are three options of gold: yellow, rosé and white. Also, there are five versions of diamond for customers to select. But that is not all. Every GoldVish phone comes with a crocodile-leather cover, which the buyer can choose from 12 different colors.
Vertu's Constellation
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The Constellation is a luxurious cell phone for people who live the ultimate jetset lifestyle. Its refined details include a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal LCD display, a microphone receiver port that is shaped like a propeller fan, and a leather back (in black, tan, chocolate and pink) with either 18-carat gold or stainless steel finish. The keypad, available in ceramic and stainless steel, comes laser-etched with backlit illumination. Dubai businessmen who have to go on a lot of business trips choose this phone because it has a real-time flight tracker for on-demand flight information, a currency converter with the latest exchange rates, and a global weather reporting tool.
Sony Ericsson K850i
London, England
The K850i Cybershot is one of the best multimedia cell phones ever! It boasts a 5 megapixel Cybershot shooter with autofocus and Xenon flash. Plus it features the BestPic, Photo Fix, and PictBridge technologies, which make taking, editing and transferring your high-resolution pictures just a piece of cake. The Photo fix feature automatically corrects the light balance while BestPic takes a 9-shot burst and lets you pick the "BestPic" of the bunch. Whenever you're ready to share your photos, PictBridge will let you easily print your pictures on a compatible PictBridge printer, or you can upload your pictures and videos onto blogs through the SE K850i's high-speed HSDPA connection. That's why Londoners really love it.

Yeah, they are really way ahead of the game like you said. Most of these phones (except the Infobar 2 and Cybershot) are really pricey though. A Constellation phone costs about $4,500, and a GoldVish could cost as high as $150,000 depending on what kind of diamond you choose. I do have GoldVish envy but I'll stick with my cheap Nokia lol
Hey, You have a cool lens. 5 Stars! Keep up the good work! When you have a chance please check out my Cheap Cell Phones project on yodaphone.com Thanks!

Even though I have iPhone envy I've realized over the last few years that Europe and Asia are way ahead of the game. Thanks for the informative hub.
