fix dvd scratches

It really is a pain when your settling down to watch your favorite film or listening to your favorite music cd, when all of a sudden the picture freezes up or the sound of your cd starts jumping!

You take the dvd or cd out and take a look at it and discover its covered in scratches! even worse is your sure you did'nt do them yourself (its always someone else's fault is'nt it?)

Anyway the best thing to do is to clean the dvd or cd,get a soft cloth and wipe the dvd or cd from the center outwards to remove any fingerprints or grease marks and if your lucky thats all that was making your dvd or cd jump and freeze!

if that does not do it and you have some scratches on there then here's a tip i read on the internet.

What you do is use some toothpaste "yes i said toothpaste!" and rub the toothpaste into the scratches then gently rub of any excess with a soft cloth.

And thats it the only other way i know of is to buy a commercial dvd or cd scratch remover product.

i have not tried the toothpaste method but from what i've read other people have and have had success with it,at the end of the day if your dvd or cd is already scratched and you can not watch or listen to it then you have nothing to lose do you, give it a go!

I know the real scratch remover from the store doesn't work :( good hub though, I liked the personal touch.
