Is it really necessary to dress just like on of the guys when you are at work? Women worked hard to get equality in the work place, but does that mean we need to get rid of our female looks to blend in?

Depends on where you Work

I have always found it funny that the TV shows like CSI depict the women that work with hardened criminals wearing feminine form fitting clothing and full make up. TV isn’t a very good depiction of real life, so if it would be dangerous for you to dress girly at work then obviously don’t. But for the rest of the population out there, you don’t have to dress like a man. We no longer live in a mans world, we live in an everyone’s world and you can wear feminine clothes if you want.

Check your length

We are talking about work here so please be professional. In most cases you want to wear a dress or skirt that at least hits your knees. Mid calf is a more conservative length, but in most cases tends to be matronly. Matronly is not flirty! Be careful about going to the ankles also because it can seem to extreme and therefore not professional.

Conservative Colors in Feminine Styles

If you work in an office that demands conservative suits everyday than mixing in a feminine piece is going to be easy. You can dress in a flirty way in this instance by just wearing a more feminine version of the male suit. Find a suit with a fuller skirt with a few layers of flimsy fabric, or pick an a-line skirt with some subtle ruffles or pleats around the hem. Pick deeper shades of your favorite color if appropriate. Wear black, navy, or gray in softer fabrics.

If you find that your work wardrobe is masculine in style then just start by adding one girly flirty dress. You don’t need to go crazy just one or two steps in the girly direction is a great start.
