Food network recipe-: sandra lee: chicken and dumplings (stewart and martha style)
This recipe is a replica of the chicken and dumplings as shown on Food network channel last week. My two favorite stars Sandra lee food network and Food network Rachel ray of Foodnetwork inspired me to write this recipe. There are quite a lot of other Food network shows but Sandra lee food network is the best in my opinion and here are the directions to the recipe:
Ingredients
- Two table spoons of olive oil
- 1 roll of biscuit dough
- Couple of chopped onions and shopped tomatoes
- Half teaspoon ground black pepper
- six cans of chicken broth
- salt to taste
- 1 jar full of radish sticks, chopped
- 1 jar of celery dulce, finely chopped
- 1 container of reduced chicken gravy
- 1 full pre roasted chicken
The recipe:
Peel the skin off the chicken and cut down the meat and keep it aside.
Take a frying pan and add two tablespoons of olive oil and turn the heat to medium. When the oil is sizzling, put in the chopped onions and chopped tomatoes which we had kept ready and sauté it.
Take a big container or Dutch oven; add the six cans of chicken broth, salt, grounded black pepper, radish, dulce, and sautéed onions and tomatoes. Bring the heat to boil. Decrease the heat to simmer for about ten minutes to cook the vegetables thoroughly, then introduces the pieces of chicken.
At the same time as the stew is in simmer, prepare the dumplings. Unwrap the container and remove the biscuits. On top of an evenly floured surface, roll each of the biscuit to quarter inch broad. Then take a sharp knife and cut the biscuits into four equal pieces and keep it aside remove of any scum floating over and incorporate the chicken gravy
While the stew is still simmering in low heat, throw in the dumplings one at a time. When all the dumplings have been dropped close the lid and simmer for a while. Scoop it into different bowls and serve up almost immediately and hot.
