Do Foot Tattoos Fade Quickly?

The answer to this can go both ways. Obviously, it depends on several factors if your foot tattoo is going to fade quickly. Some people claim that their foot tattoos fade because of excessive wearing of shoes and socks. Others say that their tattoo looks just as good as when they first got it ten years ago. It all comes down to how much you do to maintain it.

It May Fade Quickly

However, depending on how thick the skin on your foot is (most foot skin is very thin) and how well that the skin on your foot can hold ink, it may fade. If it does fade, it will not be much. Your tattoo artist has a lot to do with whether or not your foot tattoos will fade. Make sure that you choose a tattoo artist that uses very strong ink. Consider other people that you know that have gotten tattoos from the artist. Did any of their tattoos fade? Were they foot tattoos? If you know a few people that have tattoos and all of them have faded, then that may simply just mean that the tattoo artist uses very weak ink.

One of the main reasons why most foot tattoos fade quickly is mainly because the owners do not take good care of them during the healing process. Remember that your foot needs lots of moisturizer and cleaning while in the healing process. Do not let it get too much sun exposure in the beginning or you will be back at the tattoo shop for a touch up within only a few months. Make sure not wear socks or shoes too much after you get your tattoo, either. That may contribute to fast fading as well.

Another contributing factor to consider is how fast the skin on your feet grows. There really is no way to tell until you have gotten your tattoo. Sometimes on certain people, after having gotten a tattoo on their foot, their skin quickly heals and grows another layer over the tattoo. The skin that grows is sometimes thicker than what it is on most people, this can cause fading as well. But, that is not to be of too much of a concern because the majority of people have very thin skin on their feet.

Nothing should keep you from getting your foot tattooed. If it is something that you really want, then by all means, get a tattoo on your foot. As long as you take care of it, especially during the healing process, there is not too much of a need for concern when it comes to fading. If it does fade, then so what? Get a touch up. Chances are that if it does fade, it will not fade much, and it probably will not be very noticeable. With most every tattoo, there is going to be some measure of fading. It is ultimately up to you how it turns out in the end.

Are Foot Tattoos Worth the Pain?

We have all wondered about foot tattoos. We have wondered if we should get one, and if they hurt. Is it even worth the pain that we must endure to display that unique little design on our foot for the rest of our lives? The answer is different for everyone. From what most people say, foot tattoos do hurt. But keep in mind that it is different for everyone.

Depending on the placement of your foot and the skill of the artist, results may vary. But it is true that tattoos of all kinds hurt, especially during the healing process. If you scratch them (because they are going to itch) that is when the real pain can come into play. Try to keep them sterilized for maximum healing. If your feet are one of your more sensitive parts, then you might want to consider a different body part.

Although, some tattoo artists will rub numbing cream onto the area being tattooed. This is something that you may want to take into consideration as well. A tattoo being applied to any area is going to hurt. How much pain is experienced, however, is a completely different thing. You need to consider how big that you want your tattoo to be. If you feel as if you must get a tattoo on your foot, and also feel like you will not be able to tolerate much pain, then consider getting very small tattoo. The smaller the tattoo, the quicker the procedure is.

If you get a much larger design tattooed on your foot, like a dragon or large exotic flower, then you are more than likely going to feel it much more than a small butterfly. Most people will agree that their big toe is the most sensitive to receiving foot tattoos. Just think about it this way, if it is something that you really want, then you should definitely do it. You should not let pain stand in your way.

The pain does not last long during the tattooing process. You can prevent further pain by taking good care of your healing tattoo. Do you think that it is worth it to get a tattoo on your foot? The answer is ultimately up to you. If this is going to be your first tattoo, then you are probably going to think that it hurts very badly. But if it is not your first tattoo, then you already know what it feels like.

Keep in mind that if you are in too much pain, you can always ask for a break. You may use this time to eat something, schedule a second tattooing session, or drink some water. Stay hydrated during the tattooing process and the healing process. Good hydration promotes quicker healing, which means less pain.

It does not take long for a well maintained tattoo to heal. In the end, you will be glad that you did it. Be sure to pick a design that is different from everyone else. Showing off your new foot tattoos and feeling good about your design will definitely make up for the pain. Just make sure that it is something you really want. If there aren't too many concerns, then go for it!
