Amazingly, you can still find free stuff on the internet like free golf swing videos. At the beginning of the internet everything was free, until marketers realized the potential to sell anything and everything. That is why it is becoming more and more difficult to find good quality free information on line.

Online Golf Videos

As a golf writer, part of my effort is to find you free golf tips and resources. I have come up with a resource where you can find online golf videos for free. Although these videos are from YouTube, the site has more filtering so that you will find more appropriate videos. For example, the first page you will see at the golf swing videos page only has about 25 videos, but they are the most relevant.

Golf Swing Video Topics

On the homepage of the golf swing category you will find some interesting golf swing videos. Of course, Tiger Woods predominates as everyone, it seams, wants the Tiger Woods golf swing. You will also find some great videos from Bobby Eldridge - Head Professional for PurePoint Golf - showing you his secret tips for a better, more consistent golf swing.

For those golfers that would like to see what the Ben Hogan golf swing was like, you will find several excellent examples of the old timer. Other golf swing video topics that you will find are on the biomechanics of the golf swing, presented by The Stanford Motion Lab.

Analyzing The Tiger Woods Golf Swing

Some of the most interesting videos, though, are about the Tiger Woods golf swing. One such video is "Tiger Woods golf swing analysis," which is an interesting video that shows you his swing from 2001 until 2007. Barry Power, Ireland's No 1 Golf Instructor, takes a detailed look at the changes Tiger Woods has made to his swing over the years. The video shows Tiger in a split screen from different years as Barry analyzes his swing in slow motion while he marks the image with lines to show you the position of key body parts throughout his swing.

Tiger Woods & Bob Toski

One of the classic videos of Tiger's golf swing is critiqued in this video; "Tiger Woods & Bob Toski - analysis of Tiger's golf swing." This seven minute video shows several versions and angles of his swing with a driver. There is great narrative all the way through that really explains what is going on with the different parts of his golf swing.

The slow motion parts are particularly revealing as the frames are paused to let you see the position of his club and different parts of his body throughout the swing.

A Critique Of Tiger's Golf Swing

A video of Tiger's swing called "Tiger Woods Golf Swing Critiqued" is interpreted by the Live @ Guys from the 2008 Buick Invitational. In this slow motion video, Tiger is on a par-3 using a short iron which gives another perspective of his swing. It is a good example of short iron play which many golfers could learn from - unlike the videos of Tiger using a driver, which I don't think many golfers should even attempt to copy!

The Dynamics Of Tiger Woods Golf Swing

This Instructional analysis of the dynamics of Tiger Woods golf swing is very revealing. I think that this has to be my favorite video of the bunch. By the way, I don't know what the image on the right is doing there as it doesn't have anything to do with the video. Anyway, the image on the right is where the action takes place.

You really get a fantastic analysis of the mechanics and dynamics that go into the Tiger Woods golf swing. There are different colored lines to show you the position of his head, spine, and left hip at impact. These lines are drawn on Tiger's body when he is in the address position so that you can appreciate how much movement there is with different parts of his body.

One of the amazing areas of his swing is the transition; the moment between the backswing and the downswing. He starts his transition with a weight transfer - but he starts it before the backswing has even finished. You have to watch this one to believe it.

The Ernie Els Golf Swing

Of course, you have the ability to search for any of hundreds of free golf swing videos. If you are not a Tiger fan, you could search for any of your favorite players. Searching for Ernie Els brings up many fine videos of the South African's beautiful swing. There are shots from Ernie at many tournaments showing his perfect swing tempo plus dozens more that will be of interest to the golf student.

Free Video Golf Lessons

One of the most useful benefits of having these free golf videos at your disposal is the ability to search for specific areas of the golf swing that you need to work on. If you need help with your grip, stance, setup, or full swing you will find a video to help you. You could also search for one of the famous golf gurus like Butch Harmon or David Leadbetter to see which swing instruction videos they have available to watch.

Summary

I have concentrated on the Tiger Woods golf swing because that is what people are looking for. Apart from Tiger videos, there is a wealth of information and instruction that you can still find for free on line. Instead of taking expensive one-on-one golf lessons, try to see if these free golf swing videos can help you with your game. You are bound to find the specific golf instruction video that you need to help you improve any area of your game that needs work.

Thanks solarshingles. I am a big fan of Tiger's swing, it truly is a thing of beauty, especially in slow motion. Unfortunatley, it would be wrong for most casual golfers to try and copy his swing as it would be like a person who had just passed their driving test and jumping into a F1 car!

But we can learn many things from his swing when studying it in slow motion. I particularily like the "Tiger Woods golf swing dynamics" video. Watch his transition when he starts his weight transfer even before he has finished his backswing.
