Free Spanish lessons for kids - video demo

After I published my Spanish language courses ‘Learn Spanish at Your Own Pace' and ‘Spanish for Beginners cdrom', I started working on my new project, a Spanish course for children called ‘Spanish for Kids'. This new course comes in interactive multimedia pdfs. You can now download Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 for free.
If you want to see what they look, feel and sound like, here is a video demo from Lesson 1:
Why do I like this new media so much? Because interactive multimedia pdfs can be downloaded, viewed and saved on any computer just like any other pdf, but they have many more features, and lots of advantages over ordinary pdfs. For instance, they have a menu, like a website, that allows you to navigate through the entire pdf easily and find instantly what you want, but you don't need to be online while you use them because they are saved on your computer.
The most interesting feature, however, is the audio. My ‘Spanish for Kids' lessons allow you to hear the Spanish words and sentences on the screen. All you have to do is click on them, as many times as you want, and you will be able to hear them said by native speakers.
Each ‘Spanish for Kids' lesson includes four games or exercises: a speaking, listening, reading and typing game. The speaking game allows you to check whether the Spanish words you are saying are correct. The listening game helps you develop your understanding skills fast. The reading game slowly introduces you to the Spanish spelling and the typing game is an excellent way of reinforcing what you've learned in the lesson.
These pdfs also allow you to type in your game scores and save them, so you can check your progress. There is also a page entitled ‘Your Notes' where you can type in any comments or queries for future reference, so you don't need to write things down or use an extra notepad on your computer.
Learning a new language with audio material recorded by native speakers is the easiest, fastest and best way of becoming fluent. Learning with a fun course that encourages you to speak is a guarantee to success. With these ‘Spanish for Kids' lessons you can practise saying the words and sentences you've learned, as well as putting together your own sentences.
This course also help you develop a good Spanish accent. Throughout these lessons you never hear non-native speakers talking in Spanish, so you don't pick up bad habits, and you can check at any point the way native speakers say the words and sentences on the screen simply by clicking on them.
If you need motivation not just to start, but to continue learning Spanish once you have started, I have tried to make these lessons as addictive as possible so you will not have a reason for giving up. I believe that one of the things that burns out our language learning motivation the fastest is the fact that most courses for beginners are not for beginners at all. They assume that you are somewhat familiar with the language and the basics never get taught, so you start with a big knowledge gap that only gets bigger and more difficult to fill as the weeks go by.
My ‘Spanish for Kids' course does not assume anything and introduces you to Spanish from the very beginning and covers all the basic topics thoroughly. Because of the way interactive multimedia pdfs work, you decide how fast or slowly you need to go through the lessons, and you can always go back to things at any point. You also get tips on how to learn more efficiently, and prompts on how to go through the games and exercises.
If what is putting you off learning Spanish is the fear of boredom, I can't blame you. The majority of the language courses I have come across (and I have seen many) are tedious and unencouraging. That is partly why I became a Spanish language course publisher, because I strongly believe that learning a foreign language can be great fun, and students deserve to be given a chance with good learning material. As you can see on the video above, my ‘Spanish for Kids' lessons are anything but dull.
My free ‘Spanish for Kids' lessons can be downloaded from Spanish Bookworld / Podcasts.
