Free Web Page Hosting With No Ads
63Ok, so you've got your free domain name and want somewhere to host it with your own cpanel and no ads? No problem.
There's a lot of different web hosts to choose from and I guess their hope is that you will upgrade your account at some stage to a pro version if you want to host more than 3 doamins or multiple FTP accounts etc.
My own preference is with X10 Hosting - the only downside is the amount of advertising you have to wade through before you get the account. The hosting account itself is completely ad-free though.
The set up process is a bit of a minefield to navigate also:
1) Click on the 'Ad free' image on the right
2) Go to the middle of the page and click on 'Continue Process' - it's after the first set of Google style ads.
3) Occasionally you will get a full screen ad too - click 'Skip this ad'
4) Click 'Continue Process' again
5) Step 1 - type in a temporary name and use the drop down select to choose one of their sub domains. Confirm the sub domain and 'Continue Process'
6) Step 2 - Choose a username and password, confirm the username and enter personal details. Continue Process.
7) You have to register a forum username before you can register the account.
Once all that is done (only takes a few minutes) you will receive some emails from X10 that you have to confirm before they set up the account. I've received a full blown cpanel account in under 10 minutes before.
Once you've done all the necessary you can log on to your cpanel account using your username and password.
If you want to log on to the main X10 account page you have to use your forum username and password - confusing, huh?
Once you're into your cpanel you can simply setup your domain using the 'Addon domains' feature. Using the cpanel you can easily set up mysql databases, email addresses and much more.
