Some cool websites that will pay you to have fun

Want to make a few easy dollars while having fun online? These sites won't make you rich, but they could give you a few dollars in income for having fun on the Internet, something you're probably doing for free anyway if you've stumbled upon this page. Check them out.

1. Cent sports: Sign-up here http://www.centsports.com/?opcode=27710 (note: signing up through this link gives me a 5% bonus on top of your earnings. It costs you nothing, the bonus is paid in addition to whatever you earn, and its a way to show a little love for giving you a way to make some free money, but hey, its your call).

This website gives you 10 free fake cents a day to gamble on just about any sporting event (NCAA basketball, nba, hockey, tennis, and boxing are currently active) using real Vegas lines. You can also do parlay up to 5 bets at once, plus they'll give you increased payouts if you watch and rate 30 second tv ads while making your bets.

How you make money: If you get up to ten fake centsports dollars they'll let you cash out for the same amount in real money and send it to you via paypal. This sounds like its hard since your only getting 10 cents per day to bet, but hit a couple parlays and that ten cents can turn into a 10 dollars in less than a week. They make all of their money off of advertisers and you can't "buy-in" with real money so they don't violate any gambling laws, but otherwise centsports works the same as any other gambling site. According to the site some players have earned up to $100 so far, which isn't much, but since it takes about two minutes to make a bet the amount of effort your putting in to make that money is negligible. Anyway if you like sports definitely check it out.

Hope this gave you a few suggestions about how to make a little spare change while surfing the net, if anyone has any similar websites post them in the comments and I'll be happy to check them out and add them if they turn out to be legit. Happy surfing.

2. Cashcrate

Yeah, this is another on one of those get paid to fill out surveys and sign up for offers sites, but if your bored and want to kill a few minutes you can sign up for a couple random programs and make some bucks pretty fast (I made $1.65 in around 15 minutes today). A good tip is to create a seperate email address you use just for signing up for offers, because a lot of them generate a lot of spam and you won't want them clogging your email inbox. But the site is 100% legit and definitely works, they start sending you checks as soon as you reach $10 in earnings.

Make sure you know what your signing up for: basically CashCrate makes money by paying you small amounts of $$$ to sign up for email coupon lists and other marketing emails. They then get paid by those marketers for the sign-ups. You definitely can make money, and you definitely don't have to spend any money to make money, but you will be wading through a decent amount of spam to get paid. But its nothing too crazy and definitely worth the effort if you're bored and want to make a few extra dollars.

Sign up here or at title above.

3. Protrade: www.protrade.com

Online virtual stock market website gives you $5,000 in fake "protrade dollars" to invest in various sports stocks. This is similar to a lot of the other fantasy stock sites on the web, but this one has a cool catch: you can trade in your fake protrade $$$$ for real prizes.

The market works as follows: in season the stocks move based on market activity, if lots of traders are buying the price goes up, if traders are selling the price goes down. At the end of each season, the stocks are delisted based on actual earnings, which are pegged to stats depending on the sports: in football, for example, a player will "earn" six dollars for a touchdown, ten cents for each yard gained, etc. So the stocks fluctuate based on how traders expect their stats to go: a bench player will shoot up if he suddenly finds himself starting, a starter will plummet if he gets injured. At the end of each season the stocks are frozen at their earnings for the year, traders then cash out and go invest their earnings in stocks that are in actively in season. Next year the stocks will IPO a couple of weeks before the season at prices based on how protrade thinks they will perform over the year, repeating the cycle over again.

Depending on the season, traders can invest in both teams and individuals in the following sports: football, basketball, baseball, ncaa basketball and football, NASCAR, and golf.

So where does the free money come in? Protrade lets you exchange some of your fake protrade $$$ for real life prizes: 50,000 protrade dollars might buy a 10 gift card to amazon.com, 1,000,000 will buy you a $250 gift card to Best Buy. They also have a host of other prizes ranging from signed jerseys to video games to plasma tvs depending on how many fake $$$ you can earn.

Finally, the website runs weekly challenges where they give you a free $20,000 to invest for the week in certain sports. Whichever portfolios gain the most percentage-wise for the week each a prize, which sometimes is a reward like a free ipod nano, sometimes is prortade $$$, and sometimes is straight cash.

The website definitely takes some work, but I've managed to earn $700,000+ protrade dollars in a few months while only checking my portfolio a few times a week.

4. Predictify: www.predictify.com

Predictify lets you predict the outcomes of various events ranging from presidential primaries "who will win the democratic primary in Ohio" to business futures "what will the dollar be worth in Euros in two months" to celebrity trash "what will the sex of jamie lynn spears' baby be." The money making part comes in with the so-called pot: some subscribers will set aside a certain amount of money (up to $10,000) to be split among predictors of certain key questions that they want to know the answer too. If you answer one of the questions correctly, you split the total pot with others who successfully predicted the outcome, with payouts increased based on your overall accuracy and the time at which you made your prediction. Both free and paid questions factor into your accuracy level, so its easy to build up your rating on the free questions so you can increase your payouts on the paid ones.

Your clearly not getting rich on this website, but some of the top earners have made over $150.00 since the site debuted less than six months ago. I've made over $40 dollars in just a couple months, which is not a lot but could add up to a couple hundred a year if they site stays afloat. And since the website is pretty fun anyway, its cool to earn some $$$ while showing off your predicting abilities. They also give you bonuses if you recruit people to the site, giving you an additional payout of 10% of whatever your friends earn for the first six months they're on the site.
