The Games to Get This Summer

Every summer gamers prep themselves for the biggest releases their favorite systems have to offer. 2008 is no exception! As most of summer has flown by, we get ready for some of the games the fall has to offer, too. Overall, 2008 as been filled with some of the most anticipated games in recent years.
Guitar Hero on Tour came out for the Nintendo DS on June 22. Battlefield: Bad Company was released on the 360 and PS3 on June 25. Both games were highly anticipated after GTA IV, and the DS version of Guitar Hero has attracted a lot of consumers, and kids, who did not think the GH franchise was for them. Along with those two games, Soul Caliber IV and Madden 09 also brought adult gamers together. Soul Caliber IV was anticipated to redesign how fighting games worked in the realm of next generation console and did not disappoint.
Madden, every year, brings out the most hardcore gamers to midnight openings all around the country. This year, Madden came to the Wii, in a version that will bring the whole family together. The Collector's Edition featured the relaunch of EA's Head Coach which faltered in its first release and was redeveloped with features gamers suggested. Two more anticipated titles for release in September come in the form of Mario Super Sluggers for the Wii and Lego Batman for all consoles.
The most anticipated game of the year after Grand Theft Auto IV is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Coming to retailers September 16, this is the latest saga in the tale of Darth Vader and the Sith. Following Darth Vader's apprentice, Starkiller, little is known about what the game will have to offer. But fans are going crazy, and it no doubt will give GTA IV a run for its money. Summer 2008 has been a summer of games for the whole family.
