How Much a Gallon?
I am tired of these gas prices $3.00 or more per gallon. I hear that the gas prices are expected to rise to $5.00 a gallon by the end of summer.
Rising fuel prices is stupid. How can the person, making average wages and below, afford this? Personally, I think America should strike against the gas industry for one day. I don't know which day is best but I think a strike would open a few eyes. Maybe we can see $1.00 or $2.00 per gallon gas prices if we strike. If striking one day doesn't work we should strike a second time.
Do you realize how much money that the gas industry would lose by a strike? A phenominal amount! Do you think that the gas industry wants to lose money? NO!!!
We could see a decrease of gasoline prices if we did strike, even if only 50% of the people strike, we would see a difference....
I would like to have some comments from the public on this....
I know I'm tired of these gas prices - I have the Gas Price Blues

How Much Is Gas In Your Area?
I would like to see something done. really anything just a dollar drop would make a world of diffrence
I could understand the prices coming into line with prices in europe more (and they are high there) if oil companies weren't making record-breaking profit at the same time.
In any event, this isn't Europe. We don't want an increase in taxes to cover for affordable nation-wide public transportation, we don't want to use public transportation anyway.
I do know there are or were recently hearings being held by Congress regarding price gouging by oil and utility companies. Too bad it's all just for show and nothing will be done about it no matter what they find.
Read another recent article that some gas station in Wisconsin was cited for underpricing gas. Here:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070509/ap_on_fe_st/od
"MERRILL, Wis. - A service station that offered discounted gas to senior citizens and people supporting youth sports has been ordered by the state to raise its prices.
Center City BP owner Raj Bhandari has been offering senior citizens a 2 cent per gallon price break and discount cards that let sports boosters pay 3 cents less per gallon.
But the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says those deals violate Wisconsin's Unfair Sales Act, which requires stations to sell gas for about 9.2 percent more than the wholesale price.
Bhandari said he received a letter from the state auditor last month saying the state would sue him if he did not raise his prices. The state could penalize him for each discounted gallon he sold, with the fine determined by a judge..."
Really, man that's so dumb. I think that theres something that can be done, and should be done. People like that are a dime a dozen and the government/state made that stop.
this country needs a viable third party that can rise above the corruption. I don't see it happening, but I wish it would.
also, welcome to hubpages. :)
I cringe and close my eyes every time I buy gas these days. I try to drive less, walk more. I think really that's the only thing we can do.
Thanks :) I agree with you i dont see anything happening for a while.I guess when it gets high enough people wont be able to afford to go to work and then busness'es will make a stand: Who knows?
ride your bike to work. live closer to work. drive a car that doesn't use so much gas. carpool.
Your free ride is over.
I'm sick of it too. In my area prices are up to $3.29. I hate the bastards at the oil companies. Read about how to rip off the gas companies at http://diydollars.com.
I'm sick of high fuel prices! $3.20 and rising in Eastern Oklahoma
I dont think ripping off anything or any one is ethical nor do i condone ripping off any one or any thing

Strikes won't work, because you'll eventually have to buy gas at another time (the day before or after). Getting people to actually reduce their consumption of gas - by driving less or getting a more fuel-efficient car - would actually do something.
