If you’re thinking, “Can I get back with my ex?” then the split was probably not that bad, and might be able to be saved. You’ll have to hope that your ex feels the same way. If it was a painful split hurt then you should at least show some form of remorse for your wrong doings and perhaps apologize.

Don't be afraid to show you caring side in front of your ex, just don't go over the top. The last thing your ex wants to see is you falling to pieces and blubbering.

By all means show your ex just how much you miss them, and how sorry you are. At this delicate time it is crucial that you do some observation.

If your gestures of sorrow only make her frustrated —they return unwanted gifts and other negative responses like that, for example—then alter your approach.

Why not try putting yourself in your ex's shoes and then use your imagination to come up with something which is more appealing.

Write a poem It doesn’t have to rhyme, in fact it may prove to be more effective if it doesn’t. Take your ex on a mystery date, or if your ex is female present her with your very own hand picked bouquet.

By doing all this you are demonstrating to your ex that you are a thoughtful person. I genuinely believe that every positive action adds up, making it easier and easier for your ex to have some serious second thoughts about restarting the relationship.

If you spent your relationship rarely thinking about your ex's needs, and you are only starting to take their needs into consideration now; then you may have to do a lot of persuading.

Be patient, and keep up with your efforts. Don’t appear fedup or angry. Be thoughtful because it feels good to make your ex happy, not because you have ulterior motives.
