In todays's society teen pregnancy has become more acceptable and less controlled. There are so many ridiculous television shows showing how normal it is to give up a normal childhood for parenthood. Teens these days can watch shows like, "16 and Pregnant" or "The Secret Life of The American Teenager" and see just how quickly the teens life changes for the worst and still want to go out and be sexually active. A majority of the time the characters show some sort of responsibility for there actions and other times they act like they have not a care in the world and they are out dating again or hoping to be Homecoming Queen, It does not work like that! This is real life and if you are going to play with fire you are going to get burned. Teens are "maturing" so quickly these days that they think that they can handle the reponsibility of having a sexual relationship. I am sorry to burst your bubble "kids" but having that mindset makes you just "kids." When it comes down to it and she gets pregnant and they say, " We were so careful..." no you weren't. Teens need to open there eyes and really understand what they are watching. Bringing another life into this world is not a game and you are not playing house. The media is glamorizing the irresponsible choices teens are making and not promoting success for their futures. Do the entertainment companies thrive off of helping to influence such misery? I wish that teens had a better influence around them but they are drowning in their own social vomit.
