going the distance
475000 Miles
Distance is a funny thing;
It's thought of in miles, kilometers, space.
But sometimes distance is something else...
Something harder and colder than
mountains or ocean could ever be.
Land and sea can be traversed
with luck, diligence and patience
But how does one conquer the distance
of the human heart, the human mind
the human soul?
Beseeching help from St. Brendan
for a voyage of marvelous discovery
St. Christopher for safe travel through
the inevitable storms along the way
St. Jude, patron saint of hopeless causes -
Perhaps these might help.
And of course there is always Our Lady
for comfort after the almost certain failure.
Magic may be cruel, but
God can sometimes be kind.

the key word for me is 'sometimes', but I would admit to getting my share of miracles. I've been unsually blessed in many ways. :)
Sometimes... that word again! Sometimes God is kind, but we think He's cruel. Later on, I realise that He was actually being kind. Different levels of kindness, I suppose.
I won't say I've gotten that far yet, but I will say I adore Mary beyond measure. I have to work on God.... sometimes :p
This one made me really ponder. "But how does one conquer the distance of the human heart, the human mind the human soul?":-)

I absolutely fell in love with the last two lines!
"Magic may be cruel, but God can sometimes be kind." ~ Iðunn
It's so quotable! And I am going to quote them!
(Though you could be mad at me for clubbing them together like this, and killing that pause.)
