3 Reasons Why People Request Information Readily Available on Google
55I have three answers to this hub request.
- They don't use Google
- They are lazy to look for the answers in Google
- They just want to have interaction with other people on the web, to feel that someone understand, or to feel that someone is there to help them.
They don't use Google - Not all web surfers are using Google. In fact, in my country most of the web surfers are using Yahoo. I also think that only surfers who have high set of standards would appreciate the minimalist and professional look of Google. I am basing this to my obsevation, that most Yahoo users in my country are less educated, while those who use Google come from the elite class, or from top universities, or from the global business sectors. It is ironic though, because Google is really user friendly. You just have to convince them that when a page looks simple doesn't mean they are not good.
They are lazy - Lazy might be a harsh term but it can be true. Some people though just really don't have the time to go through all those search results in Google and just want other people to feed them the answers. But because of the efforts of such surfers who uses Yahoo! Answers, Wiki Answers, Hub Pages, forums, etc. Google users will have good contents to look forward to.
They want interaction - I am saying this because that's what I want sometimes. I use Google a lot of times, and I can say I have spare time to go through all those search results. But time just comes that you just want people to talk to you about matters that bother you. Most of the articles available online are written for general viewing, but when you get information from first-hand experiences, or from people who have spare time answering your questions, you feel that someone understand what you are going through. You just want first hand advice.
If you know someone who request information that is readily available on Google, just think of these three reasons I gave you. And choose one that best describe him/her.

Your points are well taken, but I wish it were so simple!
Doing tech support for many years, I've found people often just run on automatic some times, and are shocked to realize they didn't check Google (or help) first. Others find Google to be too complex (!) for them. They don't know how to scan before reading in detail, and get bad results because they read the first darn thing they come across. And so on.
