While visiting a certain software download site when I came across this link posing the question "Can 365 Days Of Sex Save A Marriage?" from CBS News in conjunction with Webmd, which piqued my curiousity; but when I actually reached the site, the title of the story changed to "Can 365 Days Of Sex Bolster A Marriage?" (I guess they were trying to be provocative)

My answer to the first question is, sex, even great sex, by itself cannot save a troubled marriage (There is such a thing as "angry sex" where you can still continue having sex with one another even though that last argument you two had wasn't fully settled) and the answer to the second question is maybe.

God is the author of sex and gave it to us to enjoy; but if you have some serious unresolved issues in your marriage and you really think that jumping in the sack every single day will smooth out any rough edges and end all the problems in the marriage, that is simply not going to happen. you'll just be on cloud nine,feel closer for a while and then reality sets in: those problems are still there after all that "good lovin"

In the story Two couples decided to have sex everyday and document their progress which they've chronicled their experiences into two books.

In conducting the "sex a thon" each day, they dropped everything and made no excuses in order to have sex everyday.

They said that having sex everyday brought them closer and that they learned more about each other. Both couples said that their experiment strengthen their marriages in and out of the bedroom.

This seems to be a very hot topic as there are those who say that they are just too tired to have sex everyday and that those who claim to have sex everyday are somehow lying.

It has been reported that the average American couple has sex two to three times a week.

While most experts seem to endorse frequent sex and list various benefits such as various chemicals that are released into the body that cause a feeling of euphoria and about it being good for the muscles, breathing and even...bladder control among other benefits, not all experts agree and cite concerns about losing the mystery and things becoming routine by having scheduled sex instead of sex being more spontaneous.

Someone commented on the article saying that their church made their acceptance to the church conditional on them, as a married couple, abstaining from sex for 4 weeks, And so 3 weeks went by (without sex) and the wife dropped a can of corn on the floor and something happened when she bent over to pick it up and so they were not allowed to join the church.

Now I don't know if that comment, actually was a joke or not (sounds like one) but we (if christian) all know about 1Corinthians 7:5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self control.

First of all, any church that would mandate abstinence between a husband and wife as a condition for a MARRIED couple being allowed to join the church is not practising sound doctrine and anyone considering membership to such a church should run for the hills and definitely consider joining another church.

Its stated,further in the next verse,that abstaining from sex is not a commandment;but more of a concession or suggestion.

 Someone else commented that he knows someone whose wife expects daily sex, thinking that will keep her husband from straying. It doesn't work, Couples need to examine their whole marriage and work on the problems and not think that having great sex alone, will solve everything.

Frequent sex can be very good for a couple, I don't know about having it, every single day as it can become routine or require the need and time to come up with new ideas to keep things lively; but it can also strengthen the bond the two of you have and bring you  closer together.

Too many married couples are not as close as they should be, sure they're having sex once in a while but they're not spending enough time really bonding with one another, listening,communicating and confiding in each other, so why not not cuddle together after some post coital "action" and rediscover and truly connect with each other emotionally? And as Martha Stewart would say, that is a very good thing.
