One of my favorite past times in Grand Theft: Auto San Andreas is the challenges I set up after I beat the game. I have never written a hub from the first person before, but I have been playing GTA: San Andreas fairly often lately and wanted to share some of my cheat-based challenges with everyone. These challenges are based on the Playstation 2 version of the game, as are the cheats, but they can be applied to any version of the game you may be playing yourself.

I call this Do or Die. Basically, I try and see how long I can kill pedestrians on foot and evade the police in a one hour period of time. I play until I am killed or an hour is up, whatever happens first. You can modify the length of time to see how many you can kill. Remember only kills on foot count, so if you get behind a wheel and run someone over, that does not count! The cheats I use include:

Full Health & Armor  R1 R2 L1X L D R U L D R U

Weapons Pack # 3  R1 R2 L1 R2 L D R U L D D D

Infinite Ammo L1 R1 SQUARE R1 L R2 R1 L SQUARE D L1 L1

The full health and armor cheat gives me the much needed armor to protect myself from cops and entry level pedestrians who might attack back. However, it really comes in handy when you reach that three, four and even five star warning level. That is the point when SWAT, the FBI and eventually the military come to bring you down. I only use this cheat in the beginning, never again during the game play. If I happen to find another armor point, that is fair game.

Weapons Pack #3 is my favorite set of weapons. It includes the chainsaw, a silenced 9mm pistol, a Spaz, a MP4, a MP5, the Sniper Rifle, a Heat Seeking Rocket Launcher and Remote Explosives. The Heat Seeking Rocket Launcher and Remote Explosives can be very useful in taking out SWAT, FBI and army vehicles if you can get close enough without being taken down. Use these sparingly, however, and only when you are in a jam otherwise you will be ambushed and gunned down before you count to ten. Typically, I will float between using the Spaz and MP4. While the silenced 9mm is nice, once you get beyond a three star warning level, you might as well walk around with a kill me sign on your back.

The Infinite Ammo cheat gives you a leg up once you get to the higher warning levels. Eventually, criminals run out of bullets and get caught. The point of this challenge is not to get caught, is it to kill or be killed. Thus, without being able to quickly gain ammo against an unending slew of law enforcement, you might as well just shoot yourself in the head. Unfortunately, this is not an option in the game (but you could always blow yourself up with a Remote Explosive!) This gives you an even playing field against the law enforcement in the game.

There are endless numbers of cheats out there for GTA: San Andreas. I encourage you to see what type of challenges you come up with and see what else you can explore with them. Of course, do not let the cheats ruin the experience of beating the game faithfully. San Andreas is truly a remarkable game with a lot to do and a lot to discover without cheats the first time around.
