As most of you know our President , sat down with the central Characters In the latest racial drama that has splattered the pages of our papers and saturated our television . Sgt James Crowley of the Cambridge police Dept and Henry Louis Gates Jr a professor of Impressive pedigree sat down with our new Veep Joe Biden and President Obama for a brew and a good brew summit this afternoon to discuss the Incident of the Professors arrest . And most likely race relations In general . To their credit all Individuals Involved In todays discussion kept the details of their dialogue to themselves , because as much as we all want to know ,and this may sound a bit harsh , Its none of our business ! Now to their detriment there were no Heinekens available to any of the parties Involved . To which I retort , your the President ! Not one Heineken on the premises ? Obviously the world has gone Insane !

      Now as most of you know , I have had a bit of buyers remorse when It came to the vote I submitted last November In the elections . And I have had a awful lot of trouble reconciling my choice as I see Government growing exponentially . I do not agree with alot of our Presidents choices In the way of policy and still have a problem with some of the cabinet members not paying their taxes . I could go on Ad Infinitum along these lines . However on this particular Issue I gotta give kudos to our President . He made a rush to judgement last week In regards to the situation , as he was not fully armed with all the details of the Incident . And then made a statement that was erroneous at best while discussing the Healthcare bill . But I am glad that he acknowledged his error and said so publicly . And I also want to give him credit for acknowledging the elephant In the room that most of us would rather Ignore , which Is race relations . We as a people have made great strides In this area beyond the shadow of a doubt .

           However In the wake of political correctness and affirmative action and reverse racism too , I think It Is a good thing that this topic has been brought to the forefront of the American consciousness . Because In an everchanging fabric of American society ,there Is no doubt that racism still persists . And the Incident that came to mind for me was the aftermath of the police officers aqquital In the Rodney King beatings . Now mind you Rodney King Is no angel and has been a chronic @^^$^ up since that time . But that was beyond reasonable what those cops did to him . So I for one am looking at this as a real oppurtunity to build some bridges between us all . Because you can mandate and make all the laws to Insure fairness that you want , but laws will not change people . You have to change a persons heart and the other changes come with ease after that . Barack Obama was talking about this during his campaign ,and now lo and behold the oppurtunity to bring this to the forefront has arrived . Folks we all live In the same country , and we shop at the same supermarkets . And we all have the same fears and hopes and aspirations no matter If you live In Alabama or the Big Apple . I sincerely hope that Sgt Crowley and Professor Gates can come to some kind of resolution In their personal trials .

      And If nothing else It makes all of us at least take one good look In the mirror and evaluate ourselves . The eyes know ! Or as a friend of mine says I can lie to my head but I cannot lie to my stomach . It has been 40 years since Martin Luther King made his great speeches to us all . And I was far to young to understand racism . Kids dont see race they see other kids . So for today I am gonna give President Obama a shoutout for trying to bridge the gap between Professor Gates and Sgt Crowley . Although I still do not understand how when you are the Pres . you can drink Budlight ! And I also like the fact that we have to acknowledge the elephant In the room once In awhile . Are we better then we use to be ? No doubt .Can we Improve ? Always .

    I still like President Obama . It Is the Pelosis , Barney Franks , Harry Reids and multiple other characters that drive me ape . This Is one move where I say Bravo Barack ! But your taste In beer sucks !
