Finding healthy breakfast recipes with which to start our day in the proper fashion should be extremely important to all of us. How often have you heard it said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? It is a fact that most medical and scientific experts agree in modern times that this is the case, as it gives us the necessary calories to get us through the day and prevents us from simply storing them up as we sleep, when they are likely to turn in to fat.

Healthy breakfast recipes and the development of same have therefore been important to me as a food writer and editor for a long time. This is the page which I have dedicated to my ongoing sharing of same.

I hope that you will therefore join me from time to time on this page as I share with you my latest, healthy breakfast recipes.

Chopped Apple and Banana with Low Fat Natural Yoghurt - A Simple Starter

This delicious combination can be served almost as a form of breakfast starter or appetizer. The apple is simply cored and chopped, the banana is peeled and chopped and the pieces are arranged alternately around a small bowl of low fat natural yoghurt.

Note that the apple should be washed but not peeled, as the vast majority of vitamins and nutrients in apples are found in or just under the skin.

Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Egg on Toast Recipe

The majority of people, if they think of fish for breakfast, will think of kippers. This recipe, however, incorporates smoked salmon with scrambled egg very effectively and makes for a very tasty and healthy start to the day.

Ingredients

2 small eggs

2 or 3 small slices of Scottish smoked salmon

1 slice of bread

Little bit of butter for scrambling

Salt and white pepper to taste

Method

Beat the eggs in a small bowl and season with salt and pepper. Very gently, melt a small amount of butter in a small, non-stick saucepan and add the egg mixture before turning up the heat to medium to high. Put the bread in the toaster or under the grill to toast.

As the eggs begin to solidify, stir gently, in wide sweeping motions, with a wooden spoon until the eggs are fully scrambled.

Plate the toast with the eggs on top and roll the smoked salmon as shown before positioning atop the eggs.

Bacon and Egg with Toast

This is about as simple a bacon and egg recipe as anyone could devise. It is still, however, extremely tasty and a very healthy option.

hmm, my breakfast of Dr. Pepper and a Kimchee noodle bowl didn't make your list of healthy breakfasts. Maybe I need to rethink things. Great piece!!

My favorite breakfast? Lololol ... it certainly wouldn't be a very healthy one!

Umm, let's begin with some porridge/corn flakes/muesli; follow it up fried eggs on hot buttered toasts, with some bacon and luncheon meat on the side; a cup of hot coffee with buttered toast and jam or marmalade to wash it all down. And, if one is still hungry, maybe a fruit ... :)
