Are there any healthy candies and treats? If so which ones?
63Healthy Candies and Treats.
Most of the healthy stuff that you will find might cost a bit more but its worth it in the long run. And one of the most important things to remember is to stay away from high Fructose Corn Syrup, which is the worst offender for your body. Look for candies that are flavored with fruit juice! My favorite and number one pick for this would have to be Date rolls. You can find these at places like health food stores; I buy mine at Trader Joes. They are crushed dates, rolled into a log covered in coconut and then topped with an almond. These are a very healthy treat because they consist of only fruit and nuts. And the sugar in them is not refined like those in candy bars so your body processes it in a better fashion.Buying things like yogurt covered raisins, or chocolate covered almonds or other nuts can make a candy more of a healthy choice. Also make sure to buy as dark of chocolate as you can find. Dark chocolate is lower in sugar, and higher in anti-oxidants.Granola Bars can be found everywhere and some of them are actually not that bad for you. Make sure to check the sugar content, and go with ones that have peanut butter instead of chocolate for a healthier alternative. Another homemade treat that can be really great is A smoothie. When you buy these at a store sometimes they come loaded with sugar. They hide it in the frozen yogurt. You can make your own smoothies with about 2 cups frozen fruit, a single serving of yogurt (plain is best to keep the sugar down). Then add your favorite 100% juice. Again everything that will make this sweet is natural and that is the key to making things taste good while making them healthy. Kids and adults with love what I used to make all the time; Peanut Butter Balls. These are simple to make and they taste great. All you need is peanut butter, dehydrated milk and honey. 1-cup peanut butter, ½ cup powdered milk, and 2 tbs honey. Mix all ingredients together until you get a nice mix that can be separated and rolled into balls. Then put them in the refrigerator for two hours.Date Rolls and a Smoothie
