HEALTHY EATING TIPS

Food! Some live for it and some ...die without it. It helps you to stay alive and kicking. It is not only responsible for bestowing you with energy and keeping your hourglass shape intact and your skin glow. Food also decides your temperaments and the way you behave and react. So it becomes very essential that people all over the world should have healthy eating habits, otherwise it would be difficult to keep yourselves hale and hearty. According to yoga, there are three kinds of quality that a food has---rajasik, tamasik and saatvik. A rajasik dietcausesrestlessness, hyperactivity and mood swings. Foods that are rajasik are bitter, sour, salty, pungent and hot. These includes eggs, fishes and strong spices like chilies .A tamasik diet leads to dark emotions such as anger, frustration, pessimism, greed, ignorance, jealousy and weaker reasoning power. Foods that are tamasik are stale and unpalatable. They include red meats, alcohol, tobacco, onion, garlic and fermented food like vinegar. Both of these food habits are not beneficial for life in a log run. They may be tempting, alluring to eater satisfying his thirst but will hardly gave him nourishment. The best diet, since the time of god was a saatvik diet. Saatvik diet strikes a balance between body and mind. A saatvik diet calms the mind, purifies the body and promotes longevity and intelligence. It constitutes foods, which are fresh, juicy, light, nourishing and tasty. They include cereals, fresh fruits, and dairy products like milk, ghee, curd, butter, honey, vegetables, whole grains and pure water.

It is very important to advocate a healthy balanced diet in our daily living to keep yourself in a well stable position. A hearty breakfast is the secret to glowing looks and bountiful energy through the day. Our body consists of almost 70%of water, so it becomes very essential to maintain this content for proper functioning of our body. Various fruits like watermelon, musk Mellon, cucumber and others can be used to get adequate fluids and electrolytes for the support of healthy functioning of body. Fruits, raw vegetables and nuts make a good snack. Fruits and vegetables are the body's best friends as they help in maintaining the nutrient level in the body by compensating the loss of minerals due to excessive sweating. A total fat free diet may not be healthy, so banning it may be bad. Try to go for those forms of fat that are better for you. Increase the intake of fiber rich foods, like whole grains, beans. You should watch out for alcohol intake in your diet. If possible stop taking it because alcohol is packed with calories and excess drinking of it will directly damage your health. Try intake of fruits and vegetables the way nature provides you and also try fat free or low cooking techniques for healthy eating. Steaming and grilling or baking is the ideal processes keeping your meals light. At the it can be concluded that to keep yourself healthy, try consuming freshly cooked meals, include leafy salads in the meal, use fruits in place of rich deserts, and indulge in lemonade and yogurt based quenchers. After all, a healthy mind resides in a healthy body.
