Helicopter rental is one of those great ideas that have come about thanks to the ever growing congestion on city and town roads, especially during the dreaded rush hour when everyone is locked in battle trying to get to or from their place of work. One way to beat that crazy gridlocked dog fight is to take to the air.

This may seem to many a literal fight of fancy and something that is way beyond the scope of the ordinary commuter. But is it really that expensive, considering the alternatives? Lets look at the advantages and disadvantages of taking to the air to get across town with the help of your friendly local helicopter rental firm.

The Advantages of Helicopter Rental

To rent a helicopter to take you above the snarl ups and traffic lunacy that seems to descend upon city streets every working day both in the morning and evening. This is when folks are battling their way to their office or workplace to start their working day. It's never a good start especially if you've been held up in a traffic jam, which is almost the norm these days. Then after a stressful, hard day's work to have to do it all again and fight your way home, only to arrive worn out, exhausted even from all that stress and trauma that driving in bad traffic brings.

So if you could say,"To hell with it," and take to the air instead, would you do it?

Plenty of people are doing exactly that using helicopter charter services to literally hire a helicopter to take them to and from work each day! Think of the advantages that brings.

For a start, you don't have to even look at another red light if you don't want to and instead can take in a very unique view from your lofty vantage point as you effortlessly sail over all the madness below. You arrive at your office feeling relaxed and calm, stress free and much more able to do your job because you feel great!

What a buzz! You drop into your office having just experienced the ride of your life. Of course you feel elated!

What about all the time that helicopter service just saved you? Maybe it takes 10 to 15 minutes to cross town in the air. Compare that to your usual drive in the rush hour traffic and I think you can safely say you just shaved off a good hour. There and back. That gives you two hours of your life back every working day. How much is that worth to you?

So you get to reclaim several hours of your life each week that you can be doing other things with, you get to commute without any stress, so your health benefits in ways that you cannot even begin to imagine and you get to do something exciting and different to give a new perspective to your life!

I'd say they're a bunch of huge, if not priceless advantages!

The Disadvantages of Helicopter Rental

After reading those last few paragraphs on the advantages of helicopter rental, can you think of any disadvantages to commuting in the air as opposed to in the rush hour traffic snarl up?

Well, there may be one or two. First I guess there are people that are afraid of flying. If that's you, then either you go see a professional who can help you get over it, or you stay on four wheels and put up with the stress of driving.

Then there is the cost. Sure, it is going to cost you more to rent a helicopter twice every day than the gas you'll use in your car even taking into consideration all the time spent sitting in stationary traffic, maybe with the air con going full blast, or your engine simply burning gas just so you get to hear it's still running!

Ok, maybe one more in that there may even be a slightly higher risk that you'll have to accept when you take to the skies. But statistically, you are far more likely to die in a car accident than in a helicopter accident!

Aw, maybe there's just one more... availability. It's not like there's a helicopter rental store on every corner, so you may have to go in search of one if you want to charter a helicopter. But there are ways and means and if you find one in your town, you can come to an arrangement where you can be picked up and dropped off.

At the end of the day, if your biggest fear is the cost, you have to factor in more than just the comparison with the cost of gas to drive your car and the cost of helicopter rental. There is the time factor also and you have to weight up how much time a helicopter ride will save you each day and then add up what an hour is worth to you, say your hourly pay rate or what you think your time is really worth. Then there is the cost of your health, which is being impacted by the stress of each car ride through the rush hour traffic. That stress is negated by flying above the mayhem and madness.

So is the cost of helicopter charter services still too much? Think about it.
