Who has the answers to your life problems?

Who do you go to for advice or help when you experience the inevitable life problems that we all have to face? A friend? Partner? Relative? Counselor? I bet the last person you would think of is yourself.

But what if you could find solutions to those difficult problems inside your self? What if you could overcome your relationship, financial or career problems? Dream incubation, also known as dream induction, simply means creating a dream to order on a specific topic for a specific purpose. It's about getting your mind to work on a problem or issue while you are sleeping. It's about letting your creativity flow and opening your mind to potentially novel solutions to old problems.

Maybe you think if this were remotely possible it would be extremely difficult to achieve but actually it's really easy to learn and nearly anyone can do it with just a little practice.

We are complex beings with many levels of consciousness, most of which are inaccessible in our normal waking state. The various levels of your self want to assist you as much as possible and help you reach full integration - to reaslise your full potential and become the best that you can be. We do this by creating focus through intention. If you know about The Secret and The Law of Attraction then this technique will be familiar to you but you may not have reaslied that you can use it in this way.

During dreamtime our minds are busy trying to solve problems, convey useful information and learn, so asking your mind to solve a particular difficulty or give you more information on a particular topic, is but a fraction away from what it's already doing. Every aspect of your being will be on board with this, since the whole purpose of dreaming is to help you maintain mental, emotional and spiritual health. Don’t confuse this technique with some kind of mind control - it would be better described as a form of mind liberation. Only by being genuinely open to the information we are given can we gain truly insightful answers. So don’t think about the solution you assume you want. Let go and let your inner self do the work by following these four straightforward steps.


Exercise to Aid Objectivity

  • Imagine yourself sitting on the moon looking down at the earth.
  • See the earth rotating very, very slowly.
  • Find the continent where you live; then the country; then the town.
  • See yourself and anyone else that is in your current situation.
  • Simply watch and listen.

Solve your life problems in 4 steps

Step 1
As you are drifting off to sleep create a clear picture in your mind the of problem you would like help with. See the people involved and the situation as it stands currently. Don't judge it or get caught up in thinking about it, just view it as an observer. (See right if you are not sure how to do this).

Step 2
Then make a request to your unconscious/higher self to give you a dream that will:

  • explain what's really going on and/or
  • give you advice about the best way to proceed that honors all people involved

Make your intention heartfelt, concise and clear. Start your sentence with "I want.....or Tell me about.....".

You might also want to say why you want a solution: - for instance, "because I want to be a better parent."

TIP - You can also put in a clause asking your mind to show you the information as clearly as possible so that the dream is easy to interpret.

The more often you make your requests the better you will get at making them as direct as possible.

Step 3
Then it's just a case of simply letting go and going to sleep.
Trust that you will get the information you need.
You may need to do this a few nights in a row, but you will receive guidance.

When you receive your dream write it down if you have time as this will help to consolidate the information you have received.

Step 4
Act on the information you have been given. Whether it be making a decision, talking with the other people involved or changing an aspect of your lifestyle get on and do it!

Once your inner self knows that you really want the information and are willing to act on it the dreams will become clearer and more frequent. You are essentially developing a communication channel that will get stronger with time.

Interesting idea. I lucid dream but alos do soemthing akin to this on occasion, so I might try your technique!
