Making a best hub does not mean to enrich it with good content but also involve several other aspects like layout, formatting, insertion of different capsules like photo, video, news and different revenue capsules. Besides, selection of appropriate Tags is also important. Once it is published, there is need to provide links to this hub from other hubs and from this hub to related hubs. However, the most important aspect of making a good hub is selection of topic/title. One will learn by experience which topic/theme attracts more traffic to hub or which is most popular topic.

A good hub should fulfill following criteria:

1. Topic must be unique: In the begining it will have less traffic but it will attract constant and steady traffic in due course. I cite here one example: I created a hub titled "Impact of globalization on Indian Culture". When I published it there was a slow traffic to this hub but later on this hub attracted 20-30 visitors daily from all over the word.

How to choose a topic for creating a good hub?

What should be the topic of a hub or blog to attract good traffic? Sometimes many hubbers starve of the ideas and don't have a clue about the subject of hub. Success of an hub depends mostly on the topic/theme of the hub. So how to choose a topic. The very first thing that comes to the mind is to search the idea bank of the hubpages. However, it's not sure whether you will like the ideas given on hubpages or not and it will click or not. Other mean of choosing a topic is "request" menu of the hub pages. You click the "Requests" and go through the requests and decide which request you can answer in better ways. Consideration in answering a request is how lengthy could be the answer. Some of the requests need one or two sentences to answer. Hence you can not think of making a complete hub based on such a request until and unless you have writing skills to stretch the things in such a way that interest of a visitor is kept alive and you narrate the things in a very interesting way.Before answering a request, analyze significance of your reply. I am giving here few guidelines to get an idea for writing a hub:

• Visit several websites at internet and choose a topic

• Look for current topics in the News or watching television and be first to write on a breaking news

• Choose a topic related to review of a product but be aware that you highlight both the positive and negative points. If you highlight on positive effects or plus points of the product it may leave an impression that it is a pay-post and you have been paid to write about the product by the manufacturer of the product.

• Write your experiences of a visit to some tourist place and load it with beautiful photographs

• Write about a celebrity. Film actor or actresses are most sought after by young generation

• Review different hubs on a particular topic/catagory/group and give your opinion on 10 best hubs under a particular catagory or group. This could be a great idea if you review ten best hubs under a given catagory say "money", beauty, friendship, and publish this information at other blog site and linking back by inserting your URL trackers in links of these hub's URL addresses. In this way you can publish 100's of blogs/hubs and earn traffic and money.

• Scams are hot topics for writing an article. However, don't focus on a single scam. Visitors get bored after few visits. It may become a favourite hub if you research it deeply and provide sufficient evidences.

• Some other hot ideas may include topics on "making money online" as majority of net users wish to earn some money in return of time spent on net.

• Natural ways to health maintenace are of wide importance

• Books, movies, dating are all time favourites

• If you know about some processes of making new products, document the whole process and publish it with title "How to make .........". This may have good potential for revenue generation.

• Make a hub providing direct links to staggered resources on the net to make all information related to a specific theme available at one place. Provide direct links to all download so that a visitor comes to your site time and again.

Note: Nobody can say with full confidence that articles on a particular topic/theme will attract more traffic. My experience shows that few topic like dating, employment, friendship, romanc, marriage, betrayal in love etc. are evergreen topic and have the capability to move all stones.

After you have finished adding content to the hub, never forget to decorate it with all available resources using different capsules.

Layout of the hubpage or hub

• You are now reading about the layout of the hub under subtitle "Layout of the hub". You know I have added one more capsule of "Text" to write this information under this subtitle. Like this you can layout your hub by adding and reordering your different capsules.While editing you can do several formatting things like cut, copy paste, highlight, italics etc. Once you save your capsules, you can change layout. You might have noticed there are different arrow marks available so you can use these arrow marks to align different capsules. You can change background of any of your capsules by aligning them to right side by clicking on right arrow. Remember you can not change background of any of your capsules without right aligning. You click on the Tab "My Account" after sign in your account at hubpages. This tab is located at the right top corner. After opening "My Account", please click the tab "Affiliate Setting" located in right side. On the "Affiliate Setting page you will notice 4 affiliate boxes. In the Amazon/Google text box click on edit and either place your code manually or paste it after right clicking your mouse. After you have pasted your code it will show "Active" status. Now your Amazon A/C is active. Hubpages automatically Google adds codes so ads are immediately displayed but in case of Amazon you have to search for ads and control display of ads.

To add amazon ads to your hub you have to be in edit mode. Steps are simple.

3. Now you click on the edit tab of Amazon capsule.

4. Click on keyword search.

5. Provide keyword related to content of your hub. By default this capsule searches keyword treating whole of your title as a phrase and will not display any result.So you have to provide a single keyword and click on preview results. Even after inputing keyword no results are displayed you input other keyword.

There are few things you have to discover for being a good hubber. I am just listing here few tips and if interested you can get more insight from my hubs.

1. Create hubs using your knowledge and experiences

2. Try to research the topic well but don't copy material from the net.

3. Write in simple language

4. Create blogs on other sites providing links to your hubs on hubpages

5. Update your hubs regularly and keep changing tags and sometime title also but it should always match content of the text

6. If you have accounts with Yahoo, Myspace and AOL etc. provide a list of your hubs with link at your page.

7. Whether your intention is to earn money or not but associate yourself with google adsense

8. Try other social networking sites and bookmark your hubs with these sites. Digg.com is a good social bookmark site and all hubbers should submit their story to this site.

9. Always add news items with your hubs and try to add all capsules including photo, video, links, News , revenue capsules. News feed from yahoo may help you attracting some visitors from yahoo search engines

10. Submitting free to search engines really does not yield much.

11. Always keep updating your hubs. Search engines will crawl it again.
