Tips and tricks to popularize your hubs

Layout of the hubpage or hub

• You are now reading about the layout of the hub under subtitle "Layout of the hub". You know I have added one more capsule of "Text" to write this information under this subtitle. Like this you can layout your hub by adding and reordering your different capsules.While editing you can do several formatting things like cut, copy paste, highlight, italics etc. Once you save your capsules, you can change layout. You might have noticed there are different arrow marks available so you can use these arrow marks to align different capsules. You can change background of any of your capsules by aligning them to right side by clicking on right arrow. Remember you can not change background of any of your capsules without right aligning. Hope this information will be useful to several fellow hubbers

• Activation of Amazon ads display on your hubpage: Once you have got your affiliate code from Amazon/Google, its easy to paste. You click on the Tab "My Account" after sign in your account at hubpages. This tab is located at the right top corner. After opening "My Account", please click the tab "Affiliate Setting" located in right side. On the "Affiliate Setting page you will notice 4 affiliate boxes. In the Amazon/Google text box click on edit and either place your code manually or paste it after right clicking your mouse. After you have pasted your code it will show "Active" status. Now your Amazon A/C is active. Hubpages automatically Google adds codes so ads are immediately displayed but in case of Amazon you have to search for ads and control display of ads. To add amazon ads to your hub you have to be in edit mode.

Steps are simple.

1. Click on the edit tab.

2. Click on add revenue capsule and then Amazon.

3. Now you click on the edit tab of Amazon capsule.

4. Click on keyword search.

5. Provide keyword related to content of your hub. By default this capsule searches keyword treating whole of your title as a phrase and will not display any result.So you have to provide a single keyword and click on preview results. Even after inputing keyword no results are displayed you input other keyword.

My own experiences as a hubber:

This was just a coincidence that I was searching information on best blogsites, I came to know that Squidoo and hubpages are two interested blogging sites that maintain statistic of traffic and one can earn some money also with these sites. Anyway, I tried both hubpages as well as squidoo but I could not maintain my love with the later and now I am known as an hubber with 96 hubscore but sometimes it dips to 93 due toless time available with me for improving my hubscore.

In the begining I just research the most sought after topic and I found that business hubs attracts most visitors. So I created two hubs and received good number of visitors to these hubs. Later on I created hubs on concurrent issues just writing my own views on a particular incidence that compelled to write something to just do my duty as a human being. I added few hubs on culture, sufferings of people and corruption etc. But what I realized later on that topics like business attract people for sometime but topic like culture and entertainment maintain traffic to your hubs on regular basis.

I got associated with google adsense and Amazon. Earnings with google adsense disappointed me in first two months as there were merely two or three clicks by the visitors. However, now things are changing a bit and I have about $ 20 in my account. Experience with Amazon has been a little shocking as visitors click to view products but don't purchases products. Again things are changing and I have earned $2.0 as referral fee. Hence, all these earnings are bonus to my efforts and interest in writing at hubpages.

Yes there are few things you have to discover for being a good hubber. I am just listing here few tips and if interested you can get more insight from my hubs.

1. Create hubs using your knowledge and experiences

2. Try to research the topic well but don't copy material from the net.

3. Write in simple language

4. Create blogs on other sites providing links to your hubs on hubpages

5.Update your hubs regularly and keep changing tags and sometime title also but it should always match content of the text

6. If you have accounts with Yahoo, Myspace and AOL etc. provide a list of your hubs with link at your page.

7. Whether your intention is to earn money or not but associate yourself with google adsense

8. Try other social networking sites and bookmark your hubs with these sites. Digg.com is a good social bookmark site and all hubbers should submit their story to this site.

9. Always add news items with your hubs and try to add all capsules including photo, video, links, News , revenue capsules. News feed from yahoo may help you attracting some visitors from yahoo search engines

10. Submitting free to search engines really does not yield much.

11.Always keep updating your hubs. Search engines will crawl it again.

Start from the scrap?

There is no dearth of information on how to make a best hub? or How to earn more money from hubs?, or how to drive more traffic to your hub? etc. etc....

Important thing is how to create a hub from scrap? If I am a new Huber what I'll do to create a good hub?

In other word its not a easy task to create best hub in a day. So what a Huber should do? Should he or she drop the idea of creating a hub or blog or should proceed further with whatever material is available.

It may be understood as a process. We have hundreds of examples where people started their business with small money and with small infrastructure. Bill Gates started Microsoft in a small room with one of his friend. Even google's foundation was laid in a small workshop. Lot of other examples exist. Here I am telling you all this to let you understand the topic. You can not make a best hub in a day. Don't get discouraged looking to other Hubers who are ranked " Best hubbers". All new hubs are given a score of 50 or less when these hubs are published and after sometime some hubs remains in the score ranges of 50-70 and some hubs are ranked with score of 90 and above. SO what is difference between two?

difference is of topic, subject matter/content,

difference is of Layout, of capsules like photo, video or news etc.

Difference is of links with other hubs or networking

Difference is of traffic

Hence, you have to seek answers to these question.

Select a topic of your interest and its better if it is different from popular topics. after you have chose a topic, gather all the information available with you. Just arrange this information in some systematic manner and rewrite it in your words.

Create a hub and place this information but don't publish it. Save it as unpublished.

Read your hub 2-3 times and look for supplementary information in newspapers, magazines and also on world wide web. again rewrite it in your words and insert in your hub at appropriate place. Now publish your hub.

Whenever you get spare time, look for some photographs or click your camera yourself if you can do to get some relevant photographs to your hub.

Add 2-3 relevant videos from you-tube or Google to your hub.

Add News capsule and search for relevant news if available.

Visit your hub time and again and see your traffic progress.

Keep an eye on comments made by visitors and try to incorporate answers in your hubs.

A hub may be improved in due time by adding relevant content.
