Recently I got a chance to read about Ernest Hemingway and I want to share with you about this incident. This will help you in writing and develop your writing skill.

One evening Hemingway was sitting in the pub, looking grave and irritated. his friends tried to cheer him only to find him uncheerable. So they asked him to come out with whatever was bothering him.

Hemingway told them that he was writing a book and whole day he was writing and could write about 20 pages and he was not happy. Friends told him not to worry and tomorrow would be another day and who knows he might even finish that book in a day.

Next evening they found Hemingway in the pub alive and beaming. So they guessed that he must have actually finished that book and congratulated him and patted his back.

Hemingway waved them aside and said "No guys, I will take long time to finish this book". So friends asked 'Then man, what is the cause of your glee today as against the gloom we saw yesterday'? Hemingway said " Remember those 20 odd pages I wrote yesterday? Today I cut all that crap away and reduced it to 2 pages!.

Hemingway used short sentences. He used short paragraphs. He believed writing is meant to be read and never tried to be fancy when being plain would do it.

When writing my book, I could only clear about two pages a night.I probably could have done more but I would have been filling pages with words not context.
