In a a relationship where sex is involved with a person who is infected with the virus, the risk of getting herpes will always be there. Many people have sex for years without transmitting the HSV virus just by being very careful there is a possibility of an outbreak occurring. Heres is more common in woman with about 39% of female; and only 19% of males have herpes.

Genital Herpes plays a role in the distributing of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Because herpes can cause open sores on the genitals, it also increases the risk of contracting the HIV virus. Herpes can make more open to HIV infection, and it can make HIV-infected people more communicable.
