A MYTH: High Paying Keywords

Finding high paying keywords is easy. Getting users to click on it is a different story.

I was wondering why I joined Hubpages and Squidoo.  Certainly I'm after the monetary gain. And so are most of you.  Adsense my friend... Adsense...  My point is all of us are after the holy grail of adsense.  Which is? Which is a list of the most high paying keywords.  Surely at one point in your career here in HubPages you have searched Google for a list of high paying keywords. I do most of the time.  But never in my entire stint (1 year and 2 months) with adsense did I get a click for say $50. Hahahahaha!

Most of us think that by infusing our articles with high paying google adsense keywords we will get that $50 dollar click.  wWe spend lots time researching and compiling a high paying keyword list.  Then more time writing articles around this keywords... perhaps even build a site around these high paying keywords.  Next is we publish our websites, articles, posts, etc... and lie down at night thinking and expecting to get that $50 dollar click ten times in a day.  I hate to say this but I have come to the conclusion that Adsense does not work this way.

Why not? Because my adsense addicted friend, adsense advertisers have quite a few options to target only those sites that historically perform well for them.  They even have the option to set different values on keywords depending on where and what website it is shown.  Those high paying google keywords exist but put yourself in the advertisers shoes for a minute... wouldn't you want value for the money from you budget?  Now where would you publish?  In a site with crappy content scraped from other articles in the internet? Or a well known website filled with well researched original content dedicated to just the product your advertising?

How I wish my Adsense account looks like this...

I 'm not implying that Hubpages and Squidoo are crappy sites. Both are actually the best in the internet. But from an advertisers point of view... both are not targeted. This implies that although we use high paying keywords from our high paying keyword list :-), it doesn't mean we get top dollar for it. Beleive me there are tens of thousands of us chasing high paying keywords. But logic dictates that the most high paying keyword at lunchtime is no longer the highest paying keyword by dinner time.

So is finding high paying keywords before creating a website or an article pointless? Up to a certain point I must agree that it is. But not totally pointless. I did get a $2 click from Hubpages a month ago. Hahahaha!!! I was happy happy... Wohooo. After that its back to cents and dimes again. Now I have friend who gets $3 to $5 clicks on his blog. His site is about travel around the Philippines. The places he talks about are not rehashed articles but places he has gone to complete with his picture, the meals he took, the hotels he stayed in, the local populace, interviews with the locals... Now that's what I call targeted.

Can you see what I'm getting at?

Keyword research can yield high paying keywords...

It safe to conclude that those who rake in large sums in Adsense offer their visitors good target quality content. These are the websites whose owners have put a lot of time and effort into making it an expert on a particular niche. People of will only come to a website or read an article if it interests them. They don't go to websites to read text with high paying adsense keywords. Advertisers will make sure that their adds appear on websites with a good track record.

Finally after this brief discourse (rant is the better word)... I have realized three things:

  1. The high paying keywords or high dollar keywords are so well-mined that we'd be like those fools in the river bed panning for gold years after everybody else had found every nugget that could be found. So much for the Adsense holy grail.
  2. That doesn't mean it is out of reach. A well written and targeted quality website of a certain nich you have grown passionate about could be your Adsense holy grail. Just be quick about because Adsense might not be around when your website get's really really hot.
  3. Or create a website or a plethora of articles of low paying keywords interspersed with high paying google adsense keywords. I guess this is how Squidoo and Hubpages operate. The sheer number of articles generate a massive income stream for them.

On another note... it could be that one of my Hubs did generate a $50 click but it happened when the Hubpages adsense account was active. Ahahahahahahaha!!! Wow!!! What could be in this Hub that it was flagged down... it being a brand new hub.  Why oh Why?

Oh well here are a few book that I think will help you maximize the cashflow from Adsense. :-)

Thank God for Adsense!!!

I think the highest click I have gotten in over two years was a little over three dollars.

That was went Nacho Libre first came out on DVD and I had a Lucha Libre blog, there was an ad for the DVD on it.

Of course it's nowhere near that high now.
