Hockey in Every Day Life
59
Hockey is a part of my everyday life. I know there are a lot of people out there like me, who incorporate hockey into their lives on a daily basis. I hope to actually learn how to play shortly. I have recently picked up a stick and started shooting :)
I noticed, however, it takes a lot of time out of your life. Often enough I find people who are more interested in hockey then their families, which is just wrong. They go to work, come home, eat (something with a lot of carbs, of course. Need something to burn off!), shower, then head out again to play hockey. When they come home, they are interested in the hockey games going on in the NHL Channels (I have also found 90% if not more of the players I talk to pay the extra for these channels).
It's one thing to play hockey, and watch it. But it is wrong to sacrifice your family life to play it! Someone who plays hockey more than they are with their families are at least 50% more likely to have marital issues than ones who play periodically.
So please, take the time to consider your family and your life outside of hockey!
