With the nation in a recession, we as women and good men are usually left with the woman's touch when it comes to decorating for the holidays. Florist don't want you to know is all the cost in florist prices is in the time and delivery. With a few tips and tricks of the florist industry, you will have a home or office that Santa would recommend as home away from home.
First plan your event. What theme will you use? What colors will accent your area of display? Keep in mind your area of display can be as simple as a corner desk in a crowded office.
Check the sell papers or go visit the discount stores, that always determines my theme and colors. I look at what I can get for the value, then I choose my theme and color plan. Be careful not to dollar do it and end up with Charlie Brown's Christmas tree. Another great suggestion is to look at publications for home interior and exterior designs. Magazines like Homes and Gardens, McCall's, Red book and other home living showcase promotions.
First is the bows? It is simple to make bows that don't cost a fortune. Buy bolts of ribbon from a craft or discount store. Don't go to a florist remember they bought their ribbon from the same places you can buy them at. You will need wire. 24gauge floral wire is the best. When starting you may want to practice with same ribbon until you think you got it.
After the bows are made and make plenty if you are a bow person. Here's a cost effective tip " Bows " are the best way to cover an area in color and is the best way to save pennies. You can buy dried baby's breath or small bells and attach a small bouquet to the top of the bow and tie it down with wire or smaller ribbon.
- Nature is a great place to shop for decoration additions. Pine cones, holly branches or even fresh greens for wreaths for garland Plus they haveheir own aroma and truly create the holiday occasion. Start with a small area, decorate in layers. Start with the background usually greenery, then add the bow with holiday accents on top of that. If you can't think of trying to design an arrangement just place the flowers or leave it simple but elegant, don't over do and repeat the same pattern a few times within the presentation room. Repeating with highlighted areas "Usually focal points" is what makes themes. Aways check and re check the entire presentation and make adjustments. Check back with more tips and more holiday items that you can make like a pro. Remember also HAVE FUN!!

Why not use a florist, they know what they are doing and have years of services and experience to offer. Just let the florist know that you have a budget and they will be happy to assist you!! And if they do not find one that will!!
