I felt the need to do a follow article concerning starting a home based business. There are some definite red flags to watch out for when you are researching home based business opportunities. Unfortunately, there are some people who are just out to make a quick buck and will promise you anything they have to in order to take your hard earned money.

The good news is that not everybody is like this. Learning to spot these red flags will go a long way in helping you to weed out the good from the bad.

Pressure: If you are feeling pressure to make a decision quickly or the offer will be gone that is a huge red flag! These are emotional triggers to get you on board quickly before you have really had a chance to evaluate whether or not this will be for you.

Hype: If someone or something is promising you the world take that as a yellow caution flag. I am not saying there are not business opportunities that have the ability to earn you money beyond your wildest imagination. What I am saying though is it will take time, work, and the right business model to achieve it.

Let me give you an example: I am not going to name names here for the sake of professionalism but I had recently ran across an offer that actually said that if you know how to check your email than you have what it takes to be a success.

Now most people know it takes more than that to actually start and run a successful business but just the statement alone should be a big red flag!

There were many flags in this particular piece of copy and if you can learn to fine tune your radar it will become quite easy to see these hyped up business opportunities for what they are which is nothing more than false hope.

No viable way to get a hold of a real person: There should be at the very least an email address you can send a message to and test to see what kind of response if any that you receive back.

It is even better if they have a phone number where you can reach someone to talk to on a more personal level.

If you are asked to give money to find out more information: This is a red flag. No legitimate business opportunity should make you pay money to find out what they are about.

If looking into a network marketing opportunity also referred to as Multi Level Marketing (MLM) avoid any opportunity that does not have a good stand alone product. This is definitely a huge red flag! A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself this question: “If this product did not have a business opportunity attached to it would it still be something I would buy?” If the answer is no it’s wise to stay away from it!

I just want to add a side note here. In my humble opinion the best kind of product as far as being easy to promote is a product that saves the consumer money and or enriches their life.

I personally think network marketing is a great business model due to the ability to build long term residual income but be careful because there are some sharks in the water!

If you do your research properly and heed these cautions you will have a far better chance of avoiding them. . There are a lot of myths and taboo associated with Network Marketing.Firstclassmlmis a good factual resource to do some research on it.

I think some people get a little confused because a good network marketing business has the potential to earn a lot of money in a relatively short amount of time.

Sometimes it’s easy to overlook the fact that like with any other business it takes work to build it. Like with anything else in life you get out what you put into it. If built properly it can be developed into a good long term business with residual income. Remember: Don’t fall for someones hype!

It’s important to know what is involved ahead of time so you can make an informed decision as to whether it is right for you.

Don’t forget if you come across a Network Marketing business offer that does not have a stand alone product, that is a huge red flag and you will want to stay away from it.

When I chose the business I wanted to get involved with it already had a product that was selling good for over twenty years without a business opportunity attached to it. That’s a great example of a stand alone product however it doesn’t mean that if you run across something that has a business opportunity from the beginning that it is not a good one. Just don’t forget to ask yourself “The Question.”

New Red Flag To Watch Out For!

I am adding this tip in as a direct response to an email I just received. Let me explain what I have been dealing with on a consistant basis. I have been recieiving emails by some people who disguise themselves as someone who would like to hear more about what I do and what my business is about.

These are replies to advertising I have out there. Three times I have taken the time and thought to respond to their inquiry in a complete manner so as to help them make an informed decision as to whether what I do will be right for them to achieve their goals.

The response back is just a thank you for the information and a promotion for me to join what it is their doing.

Now the tip I want to give is this: If someone contacs you about joining a business or whatever it is thier promoting and you feel even just a tiny bit that there is ANY trickery involved or it's borderline unethical please do not even consider what it is they are offering no matter how good it sounds!

This is something that should never be overlooked. This really is one of those cases where The End Definitely Does Not Justify The Means.

Remember what I said about sharks in the water? In my opinion this is definitely one of those sharks who are only out to make money and will do so with any means available. They will not be truly interested in your well being let alone be there to help you build your business. They will take your money and move on to the next person who's money they can take and leave you in the dust!

As frustrating as this is I am actually glad this paractice was exposed to me because it made me realize that there was something else to warn you about.

I am a true believer in being able to take the negative experiences in life and finding a way to turn them into something positive. So thank you spammer for giving me something else to warn people to watch out for!

When looking for a home based business opportunity a little common sense will go a long way. Keeping these red flags in mind while doing your research should help you to avoid getting scammed in the process.

We all need a little humor in our lives. I hope you enjoy these vids!
