So you are thinking about earning a bit more money by running a business from your own home. Well home based business residual income online marketers would tell you is as easy as 1-2-3.

So is it? Well Yes, and erm, No!

Working from home is always something everyone thinks they would like to do but there is a downside. If things go wrong, your money stops, whereas as working for someone else this usually does not happen. You want a holiday, you will not be working, so income can reduce, same as when you get ill. But one main thing is the social environment of the work place will vanish at home with only you and the walls for company. Of course nothing to stop you working for someone else during the day, and yourself at night.

So what is home based business residual income? This is when you earn money for something over and over, and this is what you should be aiming for rather than just selling single items as people do on EBay. Membership sites provide residual income and can be very powerful on the internet.

So great, you start a membership site and watch the $$$$$ role in....BRILLIANT! Not quite, I wouldn’t be wasting my time writing this article just to tell you that much!

You will see plenty of advertising sites for doing surveys, online data processing, etc, ignore them, the vast majority are just scams. You pay them upfront for the details and you may make $1 a month....if you are lucky!

You will also find infinite sites promising you $1,000,000 in the next 24 hours, been there, done that, now that I make money from home, and have been for a while now, I thought I would throw an article together that will hopefully save you money and have you running a home business in no time.

Now I cannot guarantee you will succeed or make a wad of cash, but hey, even if you only end up averaging $1 a day that is $365 a year more than you have now, less the money to set it up of course, which if you follow my instructions will not be much. If you can manage to reach the goal of $1 a day, well done. Now do the same idea again another 9X. Then another 10 and so on, and while you are doing that the average income of your initial site should be increasing.

So what am I selling? Sod all, I’m just stupid!! ;o)

So here we go:

1. Find a decently priced web host, no more than $20-$50 a year and make sure it includes a free domain name (See 3 before registering).

2. Setup and account with the affiliate site Clickbank and search for recurring membership sites to promote. Dieting can do well, but look at them all.

3. Find a domain name that includes a longtail keyword, that is a phrase people are looking for with 3 or more words. "How can I lose weight" would be a longtail. Search on Googles Adwords Tool to look for keywords, you only want those with 1000-10,000 searches a month and no more than 50% competition. Make a list of those that look OK then search them in quotes on Google and check the Pageranks of the Top 10 results for each. You want some without a Pagerank in the results that makes it easier to break in. Register that phrase as the domain ‘HowcanIloseweight’ if that has gone ‘How-can-I-lose-weight’ or ‘How_can_I_lose_weight’ (these are examples). If they are all gone keep the phrase intact but ad a word on the end such as "Today".

4. Setup a sales copy page, for example just look at 10 random sales pages from Clickbank, but you are actually setting it up as a REVIEW of that product. The web host should have software to do the page with, make sure the phrase is in the Metatags, Title, Description, etc, and the phrase is the main title of the page in < h1 > brackets (denotes header). Use the phrase a number of times in the sales copy and highlight it in BOLD.

5. Add Google Adsense at the top, middle and bottom of the sales copy but ensure you use the Default colours, they get the most clicks.

6. Ensure the affiliate link to the subscription site is near the top, at the bottom, and 1-2 times in the middle so people can buy at any point on the page, well not actually buy, but click-through to the other sales page and conversions from there should be 1%-10%.

Now you have basically a membership site for your home based business residual income.

Ka-Ching!!!

Not quite! Bugger eh?

You need visitors, and unless you pay this can take a few months to build them up, which is why when you have done one site, you start on the next.

The quickest way to get quick free traffic is with articles; take a look over at Ezinearticles.

Do not send the same one to all the article directories though rewrite them, but send the original to Ezinearticles first, and wait until that is approved before submitting anymore.

I use products called Mass Article Control for rewriting, and Article Post Robot to submit to over 500 sites. DupeFreePro is free and can be used to changing duplicate articles, you should be looking for a 50% difference with that.

You should also submit your site to all the main directories, Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc, but also many smaller ones as you want as many back links to your site as possible. I use Submiteaze for this job. Make sure when doing back links the text contains related keywords.

You can also use other software like BookMarkingDemon for submitting to Web2 sites, but you can manually do Digg & StumbleUpon.

To check your links and Pageranks use the free software Link Popularity Check and Parameter.

Fast Blog Finder is another way of getting links but involves a little work, and another free bit of kit is Social Submit Web2.

That little lot should be enough to get you making money, but remember, it can all take a few months for your organic search results to improve.

Once you have a number of sites going and bring in money, make sure you track everything you can about them with something like Advanced Web Ranking.

The more you have pointing to your site the higher up the search engines you climb, the higher you climb, the more people find you, the more people find you the more hits you get. It is that simple.

Once you have submitted you home page to as many article directories, blogs (as comments), link directories, etc, then start it all again and do a sub page (that is any page that is NOT your homepage). External links pointing to specific pages of your site increase that pages power, and your site will jump over an exact duplicate of it (if it existed) that only had back links pointing to the homepage.

When using DupeProFree you can use PLR articles, but it is best to get the percentage comparison to around 30%-35%, in fact the lower you get it for any article the better. As search engines get brainier to pick out duplicates, it is likely at those percentages it is highly unlikely to be flagged as a duplicate, ever.

It mas seem a bit daunting at first to 'rewrite' 70% of an article but it is pretty easy. Set the "Matching Parts" to "6 Words", and by putting words like 'very' ahead of 'important', etc, you soon get the rewriting down to 10-15 minutes.

With Mass Article Control it is slightly different as you are then duplicating your own written or rewritten PLR articles, so they are unique to start with. When you first use Mass Article Control with the included synonyms you will probably get 10%-12% difference, after about 20 articles though you will have defined enough of your own synonyms to easily get 20% +. Again it will only take about 10-15 minutes once you get used to it.

If you are just after backlinks, then you don't have to aim for the maximum percentage changes.

So starting with a PLR article, within half an hour you can have 100's of articles all 20%+ unique.
