Everyone Seems To Be On The Band Wagon!

Everyone seems to be on the band wagon these days. Which one? The healthy dog food band wagon!

The word has slowly gotten out to the mass public about the terrible ingredients in most commercial dog foods after the dog food recall last year.

Bad Ingredients?

What do we mean by bad ingredients? Well everyone has educated themselves, at least I hope, since the dog food recall. If not I guess it is a good thing I am here!

The majority of commercial dog food you find on the grocery store shelves is horrible for your dog. Let me explain.

It contains fillers. Fillers do just what the word suggests, it fills, with no nutritional value what so ever. The majority of the dog food on the shelves use corn as a filler. A little known fact is that dogs can't digest corn, yet dog food companies continue to use corn as their main ingredient. Why? To make money!

They also use by-products. By-products are the left overs from the human food plants. This means the human food plants discard what is not worthy of human consumption. This waste is then used by the dog food factories to make their dog food! This waste is also usually rotten and putrid, containing maggots.

Sounds appetizing doesn't it?

The Solution

The solution therefore is to either closely study the ingredient lists on dog food, and choose the one that uses the most natural ingredients, with no by-products, preservatives, corn, etc.

Or, you can make your dog's food. We have some wonderful and nutritious dog food recipes for you. Did you know that most dog food plants use left over grease and oil also in their food? The reason for this is to coat the food to make it appetizing to the dogs...You guessed it, otherwise the dogs wouldn't touch the stuff!

So back to my point, you can make your dog food at home very easily. If you are worried about not having the time, then just cut 20 minutes out of your tv time, or even your internet time!

Your dog deserves the best, after all she gives you her best. Come see our dog food recipes!
