Horoscpes are popular

The stars are something that has fascinated people and religious leaders ever since. Already the very early civilisations in the Middle East or in Mexico, Guatemala, as well as in the Asian cultures the stars have played an important role.

Even though many celebrities would never admit consulting their horoscope, I'm sure they still do! If you want to compare the daily horoscope of a celebrity with their daily activity, you need to know what sign they are. Below you'll find a list of the various signs and the dates that correspond. Have fun comparing their real life with the previsions of the horoscopes!

Astronomy and Astrology

There is still some confusion between the two terms Astronomy and Astrology.

This hub is about Astrology, this is the science - some claim it's not science at all - of the stars, planets, our birth date the influence these facts have on our lives. Astrologers analyze the constellation of the stars and planets relative to our birthdate and place of birth and then come up with a number of predictions and characterizations of a person.

Astrology and Astronomy were for a long time the same science, and only about 200 years ago scientists started to clearly distinguish between the two branches. A good resource to find out more about the Medieval astonomers and astrologers is this British Library page about Astrology

Astronomy on the other hand is the sicence of stars, planets, and the outer space. It's a highly technological and very exact science - nobody doubts that Astronomy is science - and it's also a very fascinating aspect of our life. Especially when you start to try to understand the distances and time frames that are involved.... light years away, and billions of years before our time.... To me these are dimensions that somehow are bejond my power of imagination.
