If you want to make money from your content, poems, you would do what you normally do when you want to make money from the internet. You build a website, you market your website, you sell a product.

You could create an ebook with all your poems and sell the ebook on your website. There are tons of ways you can monetize your content.

First being Google Adsense. Unless you can convince me there is something better, adsense is the best way to make money online. I have no idea how it'll work with your poems, but the best suggestion I can give you is to come up with a website sort of like a lyrics site. I have never tried using poems in making money online, but I'm guessing it's just the same or very similar to lyric sites. (post lyrics, slap on the adsense, get traffic, make money)

If you want to make money with adsense, not just for poems, but in general, you have to determine your market (which is poems). You will then need to build a website perfectly optimized for a keyword in your market which brings in a lot of traffic. I suggest selecting a keyword you want your site to be optimized for, in this example I will use "love poems".

"Love poems" according to the google keyword tool, has an average seach result of 1,000,000 per month and an estimated CPC of $0.50 (which will most probably give you about $0.05-020 per click). You get $10 per 1000 visitors to your site. Based on my experience of having 8-13% CTR(used 10% ctr and $0.10 for example).

If you search "love poems" in google you will see that the top sites are all using adsense plus other sorts of advertising. I would recommend sticking with just adsense, and selling your own ebook. Less things to click on, more chance your adsense ads will be clicked on.

Say you don't like/want adsense, you could always think of what your audience will be interested in. What does someone who searches for "love poems" be interested in? Dating.So go find a dating affiliate site, like PerfectMatch.com, sign up as an affiliate and get paid $1 per free signup you refer. What else could your audience be interested in? Chocolates, flowers, romance novels. Sign up with amazon and put some affiliate links selling books, poems, movies, dvds etc.

If building a website is not for you, another way would be to directly sell your ebook of poems on merchant sites. Ebay, amazon, etc.

If however you are interested in building a website, I highly suggest you study SEO. You know how to optimize your website and get traffic, you will make money online. This is fact, those that know SEO make tons of money online.

One more way is to create a blog at Today.com. They pay you $1 per post, and I think $2(not sure) per 1000 traffic. It's not much, $1 per post is pretty bad, and so is $2/1000, but it's a start. And the good thing about it is that they don't care if it's organic traffic or not. (meaning you can use digg, and other social ways to get traffic).

Another way is joining Associated Content, they pay you for your articles, and I'm sure they'll accept your poems too.

Maybe you could also create articles teaching people HOW to write poems.

I'll end this here, it's becoming too long and my wife wants to use the pc again, anyone interested in making money online will need to learn SEO. Without it, you'll make little to no money online.

You want to make money and have no resources, then start here at hubpages. It's a decent place to start off as a noob, you can also use blogger and other free platforms that allow monetization.

When considering joining or buying a product that promises you'll "make money" always add scam or review in the search you make. For example:

You want to join "Site build it", so you're going to search for "Site build it scam" "site build it scam review" or "site build it review".

Now you have to be smart when reading a review, there are total BS artists who want to make money off of you, like the guy who owns this site,www.sitebuilditscam.com. He's not reviewing the product, he's trying to sell it on you.
