This questions comes up a lot on web pages. A lot of people expect to make commissions fast on writing a couple of blog articles. One of the important factors that people seem to miss is that like any small business you start of small & do not make any money for about three months unless your selling something directly. Affiliates such as adsense and amazon.com and eBay also take time to develop. For instance I have written almost a hundred hubs now on hub pages but my earning in total have yet to reach one hundred dollars. If they do it will probably work out at this stage about 25 cents per hour or writing hubs. This should not of course discourage one from writing. One should be writing for yourself as a way of expressing your creativity.

One of the major draw-cards to any worthwhile blog or hub is useful content. The content must be long enough to engage the reader and be meaningful no less than 500 words and no more than 2000 words where the reader usually loses interest. This gives the writer plenty of scope to do a short essay, story or report. You must write your article using clear English grammar avoid swear words or insulting someone.

Usually topics that explains "How-to do something" attracts the most traffic.Again you should write in a clear concise format that allows the reader to know what you mean.

Another issue is persistence after a few month's if your articles are good they will attract a regular reader who will subscribe to a read your articles on a regular basis.
