Anegada is part of the british virgin Islands, part of a group of Islands called the archipelago,it is 15 miles north of virgin gorda.

Anegada is the only inhabited british virgin Island formed from limestone and coral and not volcano, other islands have mountains but anegada is flat, the highest point is only 28 feet above sea level, anegada means the drowned land.

Anegada is famous for miles of white sandy beaches and its 18 miles long horse shoe reef, horse shoe reef is the largest barrier coral reef in the caribbean and the 4th largest in the world, the complicated reef make it difficult to navigate to anegada from other british virgin Islands, while the other Islands sail freely among themselves, charter companies usually advise clients not to sail to anegada of fear they might run into the reef.

The main business of anegada is tourism, on any day during tourist season there will be about 200 tourist, the population is about the same 200, the remoteness is one of the main attractions of anegada, visitors come here to relax, spending most of their days on beautiful and practically deserted white sand beaches.

Commercial fishing is also a good business on anegada the local fishermen provide most of the fresh fish and lobster for the rest of the british virgin islands.

Auguste George Airport is at the nothern part of the british virgin Islands it is located on the Island of anegada, the Airport was named for captain george.
