So you want to watch videos and listen to music on your xbox360? But when you go to Windows Media Center and you follow the instructions it just sends you to the xbox website and says that you need windows vista for windows media center. Well i have the solution and its so simple u'll want to kick urself after you've done it just like i did you don't even need an xbox live account!!

All you need to do is:

1. Download and install Windows Media Player 11 (you definitely need this) and you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx
   
2. Then you need to connect your xbox360 to your modem or router via Ethernet cable or The xbox360 wireless adapter.
3. Then you need to connect your computer to you modem or router via Ethernet cable or wireless adapter.
4. Then you open up Windows Media Player 11 on your PC move the mouse over the library tab and there's a little arrow underneath click it and scroll down to Media Sharing and click.
5. As long as both your xbox360 and computer are connected to your Modem/Router there should be an xbox360 icon click the icon and then on to allow. Great now both your computer and xbox360 should be connected.
6. To listen the music or to watch a video all of your media should be in documents and settings folder and the type of media to the corresponding folders i.e. all your music in My Music videos in My videos and pictures in My Pictures.
7. Now turn on your xbox360 go to whatever type of media it is you want to play i.e. videos and it will list Downloaded Videos, Current Disc, Portable Device and then it should say the name of computer. Select this option and hey presto you have connected your pc and xbox360.
   

Note:

• THE FILES MUST ALL BE UNDER DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS OR THIS WILL NOT WORK!!!
• UNLESS YOU HAVE HAD AUTOMATIC UPDATES FROM XBOX LIVE IT WILL NOT PLAY .AVI (WINDOW VIDEO FILES) ONLY WMA (WINDOWS MEDIA VIDEO FILE).
