HOW TO FLIRT WITH FEMALE WRITER ON THE HUBPAGES (OR NOT)...

After Holidays, I have been trying for some time to finish few health-Hubs and I felt I needed a little rest of the health topic.
So, I decided to change the subject, and talk about on-line flirting, through the HubPages e-mail service.
Today I have found in my e-mail inbox the following (flirting?) message:
"HELLO MY DEAR
Hello My name is LOVETH UDEH,i saw your email address today in http://hubpages.com and became intrested in you,i will also like to know you the more,and i want you to send an email to my email address so i can give you my picture for you to know whom i am.Here is my email address(.......) I believe we can move from here I am waiting. Remeber good relationship goes beyond distance ,honest,emotions,carer and kind that lead both ,lovers to fly highly on the wings of happines, and in all true love is all we need in life to be happy Thanks a lot for your kind attention (name.....)"
I was not flattered, I was very confused after I read that. I cannot remember that I had recently post the Hub with the title: "I desperately need my Prince of Charming- now!". Maybe I will do that one day, but in the meantime, I am here because of joy of writing at the first place.
Of course, that was not first flirting message through my e-mail service from the strangers, basically nothing is wrong with that (in case both sides agree), it can be refreshing and cute (if both sides have enough time for doing that), but, please guys, can I suggest you some advices when you suddenly decide to start to flirt with any female Hubwriter (who DID NOT write the article: "I want my men, right now")?
We all are here (at least majority of us) because we are writers.
Women here are writers. We enjoy expressing ourselves through the power of written word, share our knowledge or life-experiences with others, learn something new, and VERY IMPORTANT, earn some money. Yes, we do like to joke, and have a fun (sometimes), we like to meet new people, establish friendships, most probably some of us do hope to find Prince of charming on-line (on the bottom of the heart), but here, on the HubPages, we are writers at the first place.
HubPages are place were we write. Online dating pages are places where we date. It is a little difference, at least in approach to the woman. It is not the same, the profile of picture of female writer on the HP is not invitation for dating, on the contrary: it is description of personal interests and reasons why we WRITE ONLINE. (" to write" is not the same verb as "to date", believe me.)
In case you find profile with female writer in negligee, or half-dressed, I must warn you: most probably the man is using sexy female avatar and female pen-name. The important lesson you should learn is: Do not trust to everything what you see in the avatars. A lot of women are not using their photos anyway, so please do not become instantly attracted to the first pretty face you see. At first, check if the photo is real one.You never know.
In the written history of humanity, there was never time as nowadays, when women were allowed write so freely and express their mind, emotions, in written words. ..and reach worldwide audience of so many readers. For us this is the big moment in the history. We want to enjoy it to the fullest. For us, writing is sacred act: we adore it. Please, encourage us and support us. For us is writing, way of communication with this world, way of creating better future, way we can connect from one side of the globe to the other in the net of love and understanding with another human beings. We adore learning here, communicating, and writing. We adore that our voice is being heard at last, after so many centuries of complete darkness and surpression, finally we got freedom of writing on Internet... Please show a lot of respect: for female authors this is really important and precious gift - to be recognized as writers and be read.
Valuable advices to the flirting guys
Like everywhere else, love and attraction can occur on the HubPages, or connected with HP as everywhere else. In that case, here are few very valuable advices to the flirting guys:
1. Do not become attracted to the photo of female HubPages author, if you are not sure that photo represents her. It can represent him, instead. For the rest of possibilities, I think some lessons are recently learned, he, he, he (10 thumps up for Countrywoman! Bravo, CW!)... Well, maybe to mention one possibility more: If you see the avatar of Angelina Jolie, most probably she IS NOT posting under the pen-name of "Aleena", or something similar. Please try to keep your head calm...I would do the same if I see the avatar of George Clooney (I would try very, very hard to keep my head and my blood-pressure calm...although is very difficult, because I do know somebody who looks a little bit like GC, etc, etc...)
2. When you want to flirt to the female hubpage writer, please READ HER HUBS AT FIRST. You never know, maybe she is talented (most probably is) and she will need a little bit of your encouragement. Write something nice and intelligent in comments, connected with subject of her Hub, please.
Reading her hubs is also very important, as well as her profile, you can find there very valuable informations: about her interests, is she single or in perfect relationship or marriage, there is no point you try to flirt to the woman who found her soul-mate. You can give her compliments, but basically you cannot expect nothing at all. Reading her written material is of main importance: you can gatter a lot of informations about woman you like, an the most important YOU SHOW RESPECT to her job.
For women in 21st century is not enough to be recognized as pretty and sexy. We would like somebody who can admire our mind and our soul as well (complicated, huh?, but that is the way it is).
3. When you start flirting, after sending enough intelligent and polite comments, do not hurry and do not be too direct...give her the time to think, women usually do not react on the first ball thrown, especially not online. Be honest, be friendly, express your soul. Flirting is not basketball match, it is long-distance chatting, it is not life or death question...not on the beginning.
4. Do not be to pushy: this is online long-distance communication, words sounds differently when read, then said.
5. Friendship is the best beginning of ANY relationship, the necessary basis...do not try to jump over that fact. Show the full respect to her soul.
5. If your favorite girl lives very far away, on the another side of the Earth globe, be sincere to yourself: are you really attracted to her, or...maybe you have chosen that long-distance attraction just because you are aware that you would never meet her in real.
6. If you like somebody: become her Fan (necessary!)... do not forget that she is here to earn money with Google Ads, and befriend her. So help her on the best 3 ways possible. These tree are most sensible general acts of true liking someone...and path towards good feeling because of doing right and fair things.

However, I have to say this, I'm surprised since i joined two months ago, everyone for the most part is decent and respectful. i mean, they even tolerate me :)

Tatjana-Mihaela: I know at leat two other authors besides you and myself who received the same exact letter from the same author. It is very creepy, this person is trolling Hub Pages for gosh knows what reason. One of the other authors, Jimmy the Jock is a guy. If you haven't checked out forums recently, I posted under "I got my first creepy fan letter, today." Jimmy posted under: "My Wife is Gonna Kill me!" We all got a chuckle out of it after we realized this person was writing to both men and women. And this is just the first day we've gotten these letters, who knows what is to come from this new aspiring Hub Pages author! (Who hasn't written anything other than creepy chain love-letters, yet.)

I got the exact same email, and a couple other that were weird, it has been happening the last couple of weeks, someone has figured out how to spam that way.
This is kind of a bummer I thought some dude was into me. I was like I know the girls think I am the bomb and now the guys. Like my hotness crosses all gender barriers.

I really don't care about such emails, I dump them on a daily basis. Not to say that I am prettier than anybody around - I am just more wide-spread over the Interwebz, and Hubpages is not the only site that is experiencing such an epidemy :)

I am not sure if writing a hub about how to find a pen pal was the source of all the new emails, but I had about twenty people email me in the last day asking for friendship. One guy started talking about how we were going to date, so I just wrote hi back. This is an interesting phenomenon because usually not many people email me through hubpages. Some guy was even asking if I could do some press releases for him, but some how I wonder if it is a joke. I feel like people are just sending lots of emails to me to be silly.

Tatjana I really think that your hub is an excellent set of behavioural guidelines and I believe that these spamming pest should be stopped. Most of the hubbers here are friendly polite and pretty well mannered and would not give offence. Over time hub friendships develop but are just that friendships. we may get to know real names and sometimes real avatars or pictures but we are comrades, friends and share our humour (good and sometimes bad too) and our wish to write.
Hmm I am not too sure if I want to appear in the same dream as Misha.
Could you perhaps have two seperate dreams, I think we would both appreciate that?

Hi Tatjana. You have all the fun, I can't say that I thought hubpages as the place to go to look for the love of my life. (Not precluding aspiring writers, humourists, or retired stranglers from applying of course as long as their gender and mine differ) and no-one's sent ME smutty propositions, or even silly ones like you got, even after I put in my flash new avatar.
I'm deeply mortified and will go and sit in a corner sulking.

SweetiePie, that is the problem: A LOT OF MAN DO NOT READ OUR PROFILES at all, when they start with flirting. On the Skype, they cannot even see the picture in the first conntacts, I think they just focus on the word "WOMAN" (or FEMALE). For a lot of them , that is enough for flirt...We are the ones who need to teach them, obviously.

i can imgaine your state when you got the mail , infact i got one mail from a girl nigeria too ( but not from hubpages).
I found the act very funny and seriuosly doubt that this email thing ever works atleast not when it is put as bluntly as you just described, anyways every one different thoughts and ideas to woo women.
The advice you gave for interactiing with fellow hubbers are pretty acceptable and fair and i do follow this way only whenever i feel i should connect to any hubber male female doesnt matter.....

I respect someone who wants to keep the privacy... but would also like to see the real face of the person, but what to do? As to flirting, reading and commenting would be a start as you say. A step getting to know someone. To me Hubpages is a writing site, not a dating service or a blog site.

This is not MY mistake. I remember when I put the link it was leading to the Hubpages, www, or http, does not matter. I suspect on hackers. I remember to have the similar experience with one my old website. When you write http://hubpages.com or www.hubpages.com...
it is the same link, actually, and can go only to Hubpages, only if somebody more experienced in hacking then you and me changes something and point it somewhere else.
First of all, I think he must be attracted by your hair, it is very noticable.
Secondly, he is no great penman, else he woul have been a bit more subtle.

Great hub , well written.....That e-mail has a familiar stlye to it....I bet its a con out of Nigeria...I got quite a few when I was single...the give away was they were so forward so fast...many people who respond to them are eventually asked in a very subtle way for money or arrange to meet the indvidual and then are mugged etc.......Ok I admit it I was conned out of $100,,,I call my $100 internet dating lesson..Lol We Live and learn..

Great hub! I think a lot of these emails are spam. I've been getting them lately and I'm 55 years old. They all are the same. Until the last few weeks I never got any weird spam because of HP but how it's a daily thing almost. Kind of annoying.

Seriously, I have been getting these same emails over at MySpace recently when I finally got an account. The 1st one seemed creepy, then the second one and another and then the pattern was obvious. These are computer generated, most likely luring a person to a site to get your email address at the very least unless they can continue to engage you to click on more links. My emails were written just like yours with different names. It also makes me wonder if they are trying to engage underage girls for the porn industry. Just a thought...

No, Tony, she wrote few comments on one of my Hubs, while I was away, few months ago. I answered her while going to the Internet caffe. It was nothing urgent, she was like planning suicide after 2010, or some time in the life, and it was very easy to influence her on positive way. But, I was not at home, and not near computor, and no I do not know her e-mail
When I came home to Zadar and to my computor, I send her message through the HP, but she never answered.
Today, I found report from HP, that she wrote a Hub, and found out through her link she left that she is planning to do it today.
I already informed HP team about this issue, let us pray for the best.

This was really good. It was also an eye opener. I didn't really realize there was a mini dating thing going on here at hubpages. I am a BIG flirt, on line and in person. I've worked in "mens" jobs most of my life (they pay better) and I have always had the best fun flirting with them. All who know me know it is all in fun, but I hadn't thought about how strangers might percieve it. As for the creepy emails, the really great thing about the net is the delete button! Any time you can just ignor the problem and it almost always will go away. Much easier than dealing with crazy stalker in person. I suppose it is a very rare thing some one puts much or all of thier actual information on a site, names can be changed, location etc.. Well, there is a type of harmless flirting which happenes between two persons who both know that they will not cross the border, if border has to exist. Flirting on that way is great: is actually exchanging compliments, it is more like supporting each other...
I used to work with men for years (but not exact "mens jobs") and sometimes flirting occurs between colleagues, it is more like stress relief, but : some men who with I was not flirting at all (not even smile), took me too serious for nothing, so I became much more cautious during the years. Some men take anything for flirting, like "hello" can be flirting in their eyes...uffffff.... some men think that if you flirt with somebody else, you are actually flirting with them...too complicated.

Thanks R.Blue. That e-mail was definetely the scam, but I also received some others which were not for sure, so this scam one was just "one drop in the glass too much" which definetely inspired me to write this Hub.

Yes I can imagine that even online is not so safe. I met one guy online 10 months ago, he was from USA, I thought I was very safe to chat with him, to check him, his character, his reactions, but he was a pilot...and had free flights,,,,,so he wanted to come to Croatia to meet me immediately. I was shocked.

I've gotten a few freaky emails myself from HubPages "writers" I've never seen around here and who have probably never written anything in their lives. I can definitely say those weird messages were not a very effective way to flirt. Haha! :P

I receive that message several times in a month. It is a scam, they usually come with a picture of a nice looking girl and ends up telling me a story about being stucked in Nigeria or some african country trying to claim some money and they need to marry me to be paid.
