How to Make a Bloody Mary
69
The classic cocktail Bloody Mary was invented in 1921 at the legendary Harry’s New York Bar in Paris.
There are numerous version of bloody Mary – some are much hotter and spicier than the others. Ingredients may include horseradish sauce in addition to or instead of Tabasco sauce. More or less tomato juice and lime juice instead of lemon. Sometimes the glass is decorated with a sprig of mint.
It must have taken some courage to create the first one. It needs imagination to blend two such disparate drinks as fiery, crystal-clear vodka and thick, slightly lumpy tomato juice. Whatever the version , all experts agree that it is essential to use the highest quality ingredients and there’s no doubt it works , whatever way you make it.
Here is a starter's recipe for you to use.

Gotta kiss the guy that invented this wonderful drink. For a variation, we sometimes substitute 1/2 of the tomato juice with Clamato Juice. It's a mixture of tomato juice and clam juice. They also have beefomato - beef broth and tomato juice. Of course, I always add a dash of my favorite Jane's Crazy Mixed Up Salt. My base recipe is your Recipe # 2. I also throw the lemon in when I shake it. James Bond was right - shaken, not stirred. Great hub. Too bad it's too early in the day to make a Bloody Mary, lol.
