start ollie

How to ollie on a skateboard, The ollie was invented by Rodney Mullen in 1978 and he named it after Alan "Ollie" witch was his student at that time. The ollie is one of the most basic tricks in skateboarding, it is used to do almost every other trick. on this tutorial I will teach you how to do an ollie.

FOOT PLACEMENT: First you would want to set up your feet in the ollie position, place your front foot in the middle of the board (if you have your foot more in front of the board you will get a smaller ollie and you will also have more control of the board and if you have it more on back of the board you will get a higher ollie), and place your back foot on the tail.

THE TRICK: Now that you have your feet placed right on the board you would want to start the trick.

1: Leap into the air as your back foot (the foot on the tail) slams the tail to the ground. 2: As your back foot slams the tail to the ground your front foot should slide straight towards the nose of the board.

3: Now you must lift your feet and suck your knees towards your body to let the board go up in the air following your feet.

4: Once your board is leveled and in the air you need to slam both feet down in the ground and ride away clean!!!

COMMON MISTAKES: *Dont worry if you dont get it at first, you will need days or even months of practce.

*One of the most common mistakes is to not lift your back foot and your board will only lift your front wheels and your back wheels will stay in the ground.

*Another mistake is that your front foot will not stop when you slide it to the nose and when you land it you wont have your front foot on top of the board.

*Also if you dont slide your front foot straight to the nose, it will go to the side of the board and you will get half a flip and your board will land upside down.

*If you lean too much back you will fall down and your board will go flying out.

practice and enjoy life!!!
