If you have purchased an iTouch, you want to protect the screen at all costs.  If you choose to ignore that fact after the purchase, you may find yourself frustrated down the line if the screen gets scratched.  The scratch can cause serious damage to the features of the device, such as your ability to control functions, type or even access certain parts of the iTouch.  Scratches also look horrible on the device and this can bother a lot of users who try to keep their iTouch immaculate.

There are several ways to protect the iTouch screen. When you open the device, it will come with a thin piece of plastic already wrapped around it. While this may seem like adequate protection, over time this flimsy plastic will get destroyed and you will need something else. If you already purchased a case for the iTouch, purchasing a plastic protector sheet should offer the right protection, too. If you did not purchase them at the time, step out and get some before you get used to the case itself.

Basically, you take the plastic protector, cut it down to the iTouch screen size and then affix it to it. It can be removed easily, reapplied and moved if needed. When laying it flat on the device, you want to start from the top of the device and move it down the screen making sure it does not bubble. If it bubbles, you want to start again. The bubbles will interfere with your viewing of the screen and quite possibly the interaction between your fingertips and touch screen.

Utilizing the case with the plastic protector is key to the total protection of the iTouch device.  This will give you all sorts of protection from scratches, especially on the screen.  Without applying both types of protection, you might find yourself with scratches you cannot over and a loss of function to the device.
