How to see movies in ASCII ARTE using VLC media player

I will leave here a nice tip for VLC media player users, that is the possiblit of view their videos in ASCII Art.

Most users don't explore the many features of VLC, and one option (perfectly useless but cool) that only serves to show-off, is the ability to view the films in ASCII art.

To be able to enjoy the movies in ascii (which after 2 min. losses all the funny), you have to do this:

* Open the preferences pane of VLC and go to Video-> Output Modules * Select at the left bottom the "Advanced" option * In the box "Video Output Module" select "Ascii Art Video output" * Restart the VLC

After that your movie will appear in Ascii art.

I leave here some screenshot of the film Sweeney Todd (i have bought the DVD ;)) to show an example of the result:
