How to sell your products at higher prices
62
Why should I be selling my products at $1 when I could be selling them at $10?
Business it's about profit and to profit high you should be selling at the highest price possible. Why spend more time and resources selling 10,000 items at 1 dollar when you could sell 5,000 at 2 dollars? Selling a big number of items involves more resource consuming processes and logistics as well as bigger investments and storage capacity in order to keep items in stock.
So, how can I make my products worth more?
Make them better
The first and most straight way of increasing your products price is by making it better. If you increase quality you will manage to sell it at a higher price because you are adding value to the customer experience.
Customers will pay more for a better product because they want maximum satisfaction.
Differentiate you offer
Creating different versions of your products targeting different audiences will add value to them. People will buy a more expensive version of a product just because it's built in their favorite color.
Customers will pay more for something that suits their taste.
Upgrade them
Adding new features or add-ons will certainly make your products worth more. Sometimes you don't even need to add anything to it, just polish or tweak their features.
Customers will pay more for a refined or tweaked product because they know it will bring something more or something new.
Make them look expensive
If you can make your products look more expensive you can acttualy sell them at higher prices. Sometimes it takes nothing more than a better looking package.
Customers will preffer a better looking product and will pay more for a good presentation.
Make them look bigger
If you can make your product look bigger it will seem like it is worth more money. You can make it look bigger in many ways. Here are some:
- Put it in a bigger box.
- Place it side by side with a smaller version of the product.
- Use big letering in the package.
Remember! Small potatoes will make the stake look bigger.
Bigger is better when it comes to customers choice.

It's all about marketing
Remember! A product doesn't sell itself, many fail to sell products that others sell thousands. But never forget that you can sell almost anything with the right marketing and targeting the right audiences.
Marketing is also very important when selling at higher prices, sometimes with the right emphasis, the right placement and the right timing you can sell your at higher prices.
There are places and seasons where you can sell your products at higher prices because the need for them is higher as well, for example:
- Selling umbrellas in the winter (Seasonal demand)
- Selling fresh water at the beach (Local demand)
These examples rely on a circumstantial demand of a certain product and are good examples how you can take advantage of product placement to sell them at a higher price.
